Cashback declined for no reason. Don't bother and why use them anyway and pay a booking fee when there are plenty of providers out there who do not charge booking fees but do provide reliable and comparable levels of cashback - First Transpennine for example

Have been using TCB/Thetrainline for years and had no problems. Now my last four purchases have not tracked and I have yet to receive my cashback. Have raised a missing claim with TCB so just waiting... If they don't track or pay cashback please remove them from the list of suppliers!

Slightly surprised (based on the recent feedback), however tracked with no issue and became payable shortly afterwards.

I have booked tickets through Trainline and Top Cashback several times and it has never tracked. Disappointed.

never had a problem, tracks quickly although takes a few months to become payable, helps cover the £1.50 fee

I have purchased tickets from the Trainline through Topcashback on numerous occasions and each time the cashback has failed to even track. Each time I have lodged a missing cashback claim with the same outcome, the Trainline have declined to pay out any cashback for whatever reason. As a once regular user of this company I find their behaviour disgraceful and will certainly not be buying my tickets from this company again. TRAINLINE DO NOT PAY OUT CASHBACK, AVOID!!!

Didn't track and declined my claim. Not worth it anyway - stick to buying direct.

Did not track, put in claim, after months of waiting tcb couldn't retrieve and so declined. Pointless waste of time, awful merchant. Use Red Spotted Hanky, much better service!

Bought tickets on 15th March and still hasn't tracked. Also the booking fee has risen to £1.50 and to pay by Paypal is another £1.90. Not worth it any longer.

Tracked immediately but was then declined. I will definitely NOT be using this site again.

Thetrainline has a nice website and also a nice app, however this is paid for by the mugs that use their service. Why should I have to pay £1 for a booking fee when I can book through many other train services for free! Slightly higher cashback that is all but cancelled by the £1 you pay in booking fee. Not worth it!

Tracked quickly and then refused to payout - changed to £0. I did not use any codes or do anything else to invalidate so no reason for this. Be cautious!

Addendum - Interesting that most of the recent feedback is similar!

They seem to find any way (and don't have to justify) to not pay out (despite following the rules)! Expensive to use with 'booking fee' AND credit card charge, particularly when CB declined. Won't use again! Alternative sites are available. Although you don't get cashback, they don't charge any fees - So better value overall.

For no reason what-so-ever that I can see, my cashback has been refused by thetrainline. It wasn't for a great deal of money (original purchase was £17.80) but I'm very disappointed to be told I get nothing from them. I didn't cancel my ticket, I didn't use another promotional code at the same time, I totally can't understand why I'm not being allowed what is due to me. If I buy an expensive train ticket I either, won't be using thetrainline, or will try another cashback site.

Useless. Again Twice in 3 months have had valid transactions approved and then reduced to 0 for no reason. Never again

Although this was only £0.21 as I am not using trains a lot. Payment become ZERO payable after 3 months and can't be ars... to make a claim. Poor simples!!!

As others have mentioned, beware the completely hidden booking fee (£1) and credit card AND Paypal fee (£3.50) when buying tickets through the site. I'd recommend using this site to check train times and see if the're cashback through the specific train operator's web site.

Useless - claim acknowledged and process then reduced to 0 for no reason. Ticket purchased within their t&c Wont use again

I came to trainline after despairing of the Southern Railways website. Trainline is not worth it either. The percentage cashback on ticket (as opposed to hotel) purches is tiny, and more than taken back by the £1 booking fee, let alone the £3.50 they sting you for if you pay by credit card.
