I bought a Zanussi gas cooker and have been very pleased with the service from John Lewis. Because it was a gas cooker it had to be fitted properly so to order I had to call a special order line. The lady who answered my call was extremely helpful and friendly. Within a couple of weeks I had the call to say the cooker was in stock and to arrange delivery. Again, the lady who answered my call was great. The delivery was arranged and I was told the delivery man would call half an hour before arrival. The delivery slot was between 7am and 2pm so quite a while to wait in but as I was able to pick a mutually convenient delivery slot it meant I could make arrangements with work. The men did call half an hour before delivery and they took the old cooker away and connected the new one. Gave a brief instruction on how the cooker worked and were polite and friendly. I would definitely buy from John Lewis again. The cooker price was the same, if not slightly lower, than other companies I'd looked at (e.g. Currys) and I had read other reviews regarding the delivery from Currys compared to John Lewis.

Went into a store wanting a shower rack and bathroom cabinet. Had seen the same rack online at a retailer (with stores)for 33% less. approached a member of staff to ask about 'price promise' who said she couldn't help. She got someone else who said we'd have to buy JL's one and then fill in paperwork to apply for the difference back. We decided against this expecting them to decline, the lady then found us 2 minutes later to advise we wouldn't have been able to claim as the rack was JL branded supposedly. The cabinet we wanted? Out of stock and the 'helpful' assistant didn't think to offer to order it in so we went elsewhere. Great selection of overpriced stuff in summary.
