Bought a fragile item which was "display boxed" which was meant to be a gift.
Debenhams put it in a plastic bag with no protective bubble wrap or other support so the display box arrived battered and I was unable to give this as a present.
It looked like it had been kicked around!
I have since returned this for an exchange instore.
Debenhams Customer Service said "it's a busy time of year and we're forced to get things out quickly" NOT the right attitude! Other retailers manage to protectively box items that need it.
Won't be buying from them online again due to this.

I am a regualr user shopper of debenhams, but not anymore, all items were just thrown into a bag and boxes had broke meaning all gifts for christmas had to be returned, it is too late to get them replaced as I waited 2 weeks on delivery! and would not get them intime for christmas, customer care sent automated email saying we dont deal with complaints due to a technical error! No bloody wonder may loads of others have same complaint also.

My first item i ordered from this merchant was fine, really pleased with the product and i used a free shipping code so managed to get the item a bit cheaper, however the second time I used the retailer online they didnt have my item in stock which they only notified me about a few days after i had purchased the item and am now having trouble locating the item elsewhere in time for christmas! they also only sent an automated email so i had no-one to talk to if need be!
