Purchased an expensive leather chair in August 2010. I was expecting £5.96 cashback. Having waited for deliery, the chair was delivered with a seat that appears to be too big for the chair! We asked for a replacement seat and they were unable to do this. We would have to arrange to get the chair back to them for them to "examine it and take appropriate action"!
I have just been advised (11 months later) that they are definitely not going to honour the payment because they have paid my cashback out elsewhere!! Even though this is, alledgedly, an error on the part of Debenhams because, as I understand it, they have already paid my money out to a 3rd party "The comment that has been posted regarding this rejection is that 'Another marketing channel was credited with the sale'.", they will not pay me because they will then have then paid out twice - I would argue that this is not my problem!! Top Cashback cannot help any further - "Following an outcome of this nature there is invariably little we can do as the merchant will not pay out twice for the same sale".
Very disappointed with this merchant. I bought from Debenhams as opposed to elsewhere, because, based on their promise of cashback, they were slightly cheaper. I won't be making this mistake again!!
