I booked a trip to Helsinki in June 2014 which tracked for the correct amount of £30 and have waited till January 2015 for Hotels.com to say that it could not prove that it was bought through Top Cashback. I would of booked with a different company and got it either cheaper with less cashback or the same amount. Have another trip from December in Essen no doubt the piffling £6 will not be paid either, avoid!

Don't use them, as they won't pay out. I booked in January for a holiday in August which tracked ok. TopCashback said it will be submitted when my stay was completed. It got submitted when I got back, but then after 3 months, I get told that the merchant (hotels.com) has declined the submission as it had an "invalid order number". This is complete rubbish as I sent TC the order number that was in my email confirmation from hotels.com - hence I don't believe it when hotels.com say they cannot trace my transaction. I used hotels.com over booking.com as they worked out better value after the cashback was factored in. I won't be making that mistake again.

Excellent company to do business with. I use them for business and leisure. Their customer service is the best out there. The prices are always competitive and you also get 10% of price paid against a free stay. Sometimes does not track but if you put a manual claim in then tcb with chase up and get the cashback. Have had over £1,000 paid out from them and countless free night stays.

Excellent site - I'm planning an extended trip away and have already booked 5 hotels via this site; cashback tracked each time within minutes of my bookings. Their prices are extremely competitive, reservations are clear and concise and are emailed directly upon booking. I have used them many times in the past and will continue to do so (I have always received my cashback). I had paid for a hotel through them for a stay in Christchurch, NZ, which unfortunately coincided with the earthquake - this was immediately refunded to my account. Can't speak highly enough of Hotels.com

I will never book through hotels.com again. I made a valid purchase and have a receipt as proof, and when it came to paying out the cashback, they declined it with the reason "invalid order number". Not happy.

Amazed to read all the good reviews. I made three separate bookings and received nothing. 2 have been declined for no reason, and no response to an enquiry about the third. Will not use again.

It has taken nearly a year to process a topcashback claim with hotels.com even though I completed the transaction correctly. My claim is still outstanding .I paid a considerable amount so feel disappointed and hope still for a favourable response I had previously found the service to be good so this has shaken my confidence in continuing to use hotels.com which I would like to do as I travel often

Booked with this website a few times and am just reviewing my cashbacks from Jan 2014 - and I'm learning that all have them been declined. These would have been genuine stays and I even have a note that so and so stay was going to offer this much as cashback was tracked. I wouldn't use Hotels.com again!

Hmmm......not sure about pricing situation. Looked at price updates for a Hotel on Tripadvisor and good rate showing through Hotels.com Clicked the link and price quoted seemed reasonable. Logged into TopCashback and went through the link to Hotels.com and price is over £30 more expensive than going in direct.

This merchant has a good rate and tracked quickly, but then they took over 6-months to pay out. I think this is a long time to wait for a payout and I would have to think twice before using them again.

I was refused cashback of £9.90 12 months after appealing against the cashback refusal and 14 months after the hotel stay which logged immediately. The grounds given were that I not booked straight after the transfer from topcashback, which I don't think is the case, but is hard to argue with so long after the event. In fairness I should say that claims amounting to £24 have been paid previously.

Can't fault Hotels.com - generally the cheapest rates online (and they'll price match if they aren't), really good customer service (refunding a non-refundable stay due to bad weather), Welcome Rewards (they give you an average spend of 10 nights of stays as a gift voucher for a future stay) and consistently high level of cashback that always tracks and pays out.

Very very slow at paying out. Transaction with Hotels.com in January. Cashback finally processed through topcashback after being chased up in October. Avoid!

Hopeless at paying out. I paid and stayed at a hotel in January 2014. I booked through hotels.com. The cash back was confirmed in late spring but no pay out...until I complained to topcashback in October (that's 9 months after I completed the transaction). Bless them, topcashback quickly paid the cash back to me themselves given how poor hotels.com has been at (not) paying up. I shall AVOID hotels.com for hotel bookings in the future. So, my thoughts are big respect to topcashback and a thumbs down for hotels.com.

Used to be great with Topcashback which was I used them, but now ridiculously slow. Still waiting on payment for a stay in May 14, and it's now Oct 14. Plus getting the occasional decline for no obvious reason. Will use a different supplier from now on.

Cashback used to track without fail. The last 3 occasions, it didn't track, but I did a support ticket, and 2 out of the 3 have been confirmed/payable. The 3rd one was declined - I have no idea why, other than it may have been because 1 or my 3 nights stay was using a 'welcome reward' free night. Therefore if you are wanting to use a 'welcome reward' night, I advise you to book that night separately. 10% cashback is good though when you get it, and welcome rewards on top of that is even better.

First transaction tracked with hotels.com - subsequent ones didn't and am still waiting from April 2014 to get a response from the retailer for a two week stay in Florida. Have since moved to another provider for my hotel needs as a result.

A complete waste of time. The cashback tracked almost straight away but, after waiting six months, I was told it had been declined. I chose to book with Hotels.com over other accommodation websites because of the cashback deal but I have learnt my lesson and won't be using it again.

Hotels.com declined my cash back because the hotel I booked (Millennium in Gloucester Road, London) moved my booking to their inferior hotel annex next door. The whole experience was sneaky and I was left feeling totally let down by both the hotel group and the booking site.

Hotels.com cashback is terrible - having an awful time trying to claim some money back from them. They no longer track, when i raise claim they do not pay the correct amount. i have about 10 unclaimed cashbacks from hotels.com - some dating back from 2013. Not happy with this at all - I recommend do not use!

One declined cashback claiming TCB were not the identified referrer and another one not tracked and now has to be submitted manually. Will not use again. Seems a recurrent theme in the hotels industry that cashback very rarely tracks when I very rarely have problems with ticket-booking sites or other more reputable websites. Should not be trying to mislead customers to book with you if you can't stick to your end of the bargain. Absolutely disgusting.
