Very poor on their part. Had 4 bookings and none of them paid through. Was told that "booking cancelled", 7 months after I had completed my stay.

Hotels.com are exploiting the lack of system in place by luring in customers with high cashback promises and just declining later by giving generic responses as they very well know that, it is hard for customers to pursue them. In my case, they said it was due to "Invalid Order Number" when I'd ensured that the click to the merchant was swiftly followed by the booking process. So unless they clean up their act, it is advised to stay away from these opportunists.

I booked and completed my stay but the order was not track at the time of booking. When I submitted a claim, it was refused due to invalid order number which is a total lie. Do not expect any cash back from this merchant, take your business elsewhere!!!

Just hope that it tracks. I've put hundreds of pounds through Hotels.com with TCB and when it tracks it's great but I don't think I've ever had a successful claim, Hotels.com simply say the booking was cancelled even if untrue.

only about 20% of the bookings now track automatically. It is worth booking through them for the welcomerewards scheme, but expect to have to track every single one through a claim

Don't expect cashback or them to ever price match. I stayed in dozens of hotels last year and almost all the cashback was refused, because apparently I had 'cancelled' the bookings. Complete utter lies by this crook company. On one occasion I found a room cheaper after booking, so asked them to honour their price match, which of course they didn't. There was only a tenner in the price, yet they didn't do it. Not recommended.

from what used to be the very best merchant on here, recently they changed, i travel almost weekly and was used to having all my hotels booke being tracked and paid when now for what ever reason bookings no longer track at time booking and now only 50% of my stays track at best, so now once i have covered my last 10 stays for my 1 extra free night I will be using another booking company, such a shame as this merchant used to be the absolute best

Fantastic company - excellent - use them all the time and cashback seems to track virtually every time. On rare occassions it hasn't tracked they have agreed with no quibbles. Can't recommend more highly - the best merchant I deal with on TCB.

It used to be good. Now Hotels.com set up all these new rules to avoid paying cash back. e.g. have to use the same card for booking and paying at hotel. Can't use any promotional code. Takes a year to get paid... Shame on you Hotels.com

Ignore this merchant, a long time user of TopCashback however the merchant advised no referral from TopCashback leaving me £60 short. Booked a hotel for 6 nights instead of going directly through the hotel website who were guaranteeing the best price I chose Hotels.com for the 10% discount. I contacted TopCashBack who advised they refused to pay due to there being no referral link even if TopCashback had traced my purchase. Be very cautious using this merchant.

I booked a trip to Helsinki in June 2014 which tracked for the correct amount of £30 and have waited till January 2015 for Hotels.com to say that it could not prove that it was bought through Top Cashback. I would of booked with a different company and got it either cheaper with less cashback or the same amount. Have another trip from December in Essen no doubt the piffling £6 will not be paid either, avoid!

Don't use them, as they won't pay out. I booked in January for a holiday in August which tracked ok. TopCashback said it will be submitted when my stay was completed. It got submitted when I got back, but then after 3 months, I get told that the merchant (hotels.com) has declined the submission as it had an "invalid order number". This is complete rubbish as I sent TC the order number that was in my email confirmation from hotels.com - hence I don't believe it when hotels.com say they cannot trace my transaction.
I used hotels.com over booking.com as they worked out better value after the cashback was factored in. I won't be making that mistake again.

Excellent company to do business with. I use them for business and leisure. Their customer service is the best out there. The prices are always competitive and you also get 10% of price paid against a free stay. Sometimes does not track but if you put a manual claim in then tcb with chase up and get the cashback. Have had over £1,000 paid out from them and countless free night stays.

Excellent site - I'm planning an extended trip away and have already booked 5 hotels via this site; cashback tracked each time within minutes of my bookings. Their prices are extremely competitive, reservations are clear and concise and are emailed directly upon booking. I have used them many times in the past and will continue to do so (I have always received my cashback). I had paid for a hotel through them for a stay in Christchurch, NZ, which unfortunately coincided with the earthquake - this was immediately refunded to my account. Can't speak highly enough of Hotels.com

I will never book through hotels.com again.
I made a valid purchase and have a receipt as proof, and when it came to paying out the cashback, they declined it with the reason "invalid order number". Not happy.

Amazed to read all the good reviews. I made three separate bookings and received nothing. 2 have been declined for no reason, and no response to an enquiry about the third. Will not use again.

It has taken nearly a year to process a topcashback claim with hotels.com even though I completed the transaction correctly. My claim is still outstanding .I paid a considerable amount so feel disappointed and hope still for a favourable response
I had previously found the service to be good so this has shaken my confidence in continuing to use hotels.com which I would like to do as I travel often
