AA UK Breakdown Reviews

TopCashback members have rated AA UK Breakdown three stars out of five, with those providing positive feedback pointing out the excellent service and great value they received, with one customer stating that they provided them with the cheapest roadside cover.

Another one of our members says the cashback offered made taking out AA breakdown value for money, while others state their cashback was paid out within the timeframe or had tracked within minutes of making a purchase, with one commenting: “Not the first time I have used TCB (TopCashback) with AA - 100% record, no issues.”

Customers leaving reviews on Trustpilot, where they have a three-star rating, praise them for being prompt and careful, as well as attending call-outs and fixing problems quickly, with one saying they “never failed to impress”.

Someone describes how they had only called for advice about an issue and the AA sent someone out to fix the problem, while another says their car was back on the road within 40 minutes of calling for assistance. Another positive seems to be the fact that membership gives you discounts, while you can gain access to offers via the website.

Got the full package £168, expecting 75 After 8 months of waiting cash back declined, I will not be renewing my contract with AA, i hate welchers! To top it of as it's after 100 days I can't even lodge a claim, shame on you AA and shame on you topcashback for not supporting.

Took out a new policy of a value as a new customer) in April 2013. It's now January 2014 and I have note recived any cashback. Initially it tracked ok but had a ridicously long time trame in which the cashback would be paid (greater than 6 months). I waited and waited and eventually raised a support call flagging this up. Topcashback staff helpfully said wait a little longer then reflag up which I did. They said they would chase. Now my cashback amount has been set to zero for this transaction. To say I'm unimpressed in an understatement. Avoid.

Took out Breakdown Cover in March 2012 through Topcashback with the offer of £50 cashback. Definitely went through the tcb site but it didn't track so I raised the issue. Sent nudges once a month since. It is nearly two years later and not heard a thing. Very very poor on both the AA and tcb. Seems to be a lot of people have had the same problem unfortunately. I have given no stars as even one is too much!

Paid in full in August 2013, tracked quickly but still pending in January 2014. Raised a support ticket and told by TCB that is progressing as expected and asked not to contact again!!

Having recently given up hope on my cashback which was from May 2013 transaction, i left 1 star review and suddenly my money appears, £70! well pleased. The tracking was poor and confusing but worth the wait.

9 months and counting. No tracking no cash back. I question whether TopCashBack are in contact with the AA given the number of unsatisfied customers. I would advise all to avoid this one Live Long and Prosper

Cashback not tracked (for £38). Claim has been processed for more than a year (sic!) and finally declined without giving me any reason as to why this happened. Will definitely not use again as the breakdown cover is very expensive if you do not get any cashback (would not have brought in the first place if I knew this was going to happen)

As always this is the worst merchant to get cashback from! I have usually got it eventually but you have to keep at it! still waiting from April this year! I sometimes change from AA TO RAC or vice versa to keep costs down, RAC pay up no problem but the AA take forever - I think they are on this site under false pretences really as most people will not get their rightful cashback if they don't keep trying - after all, we only choose them for our breakdown cover because it works out cheaper when you factor in the cashback, if you don't get it, its a con!

Never recieved cashback payment. Unfortunatley also missed the 100 day rule. Cashback was a big factor in me swapping over from my previous Breakdown. Very dissapointed!

I rate the service very well but am yet to receive cash back from May 2013, tracked at the wrong rate to start with, which i put a ticket in but looks like the faster paying merchant is false. I am happy with the product and would of purchased anyway, I had a breakdown and experienced fantastic service so not all about the cash back i guess.

Awful! This isn't the first time AA has refused to pay cashback. Bought and paid for breakdown cover months ago, failed to track and nothing happening. My tip is to avoid

Paid £165 in January with expected £70 cashback,showed as outstanding until August, then declined. Check the forum others too. Lodged claim but could take 4 weeks to several months. Also when my Alternator was playing up the AA came (homestart) he looked under the bonnet, checked the battery (driver footwell) advised to take it to a garage. Was then told the Alternator is actually located under the engine (Merc A170) and that it was a fire hazard. So the AA didnt even check it

Like many people I chose (I know "cashback is not guaranteed ...bla bla") the AA because the cashback potential was good. Lioke many people the cashback experience was awful! However 6.5 months on from purchasing my AA cover and chasing my claim consistently today I finally received payment from TCB. Just thought I'd post to say they do pay out if you can stand the wait!

Used AA a couple of years ago, but although they took something like six months to pay the cashback, they did actually pay. Went with RAC last year, and whilst not quick, they paid much sooner than AA had previously. Up for renewal now, so with RAC renewal cost ridiculous, wanted to look at AA again.... That is, until I had read the reviews about non-payment of the cashback. Thanks to all leaving this feedback, having been with either AA or RAC for 30 years, I have for the first time gone with Green Flag this year. It seems that the AA are winding people up by being a terrible cash-back payer, and this makes folk like me consider using a company I'd never used before. This can't be good for AA business long term surely?

A WARNING TO ALL. After comparing several breakdown companies I calculated that taking out the AA's policy and receiving cash-back through topcashback would serve me best. That was back in February, and despite sending details and raising a complaint about cashback not tracking properly, as well as around a dozen "nudges" sent to the topcashback team nothing has been done. I'm extremely disappointed that 1) The cashback has not been paid (so I would have been far cheaper taking out breakdown cover with a different provider) & 2) The "nudges" sent to topcashback seem to be ignored. Highly disappointed in both The AA, and also Topcashback for not even attempting to sort this out.
