I purchased breakdown on 22 Oct 2013 by paying £ 165. It showed on my profile after few days but after few months ,it disappears. I lodged claim, today after long conversation and emails,it was declined without any reason. Even RAC is unable to give any one reason. I paid in full, full filed all requirements, first time buyer. Even top cash back didn't help me. Surprisingly, RAC is asking for proof, I have provided membership number , they have recieved payment , but they are unable to explain any reason for decline. I would advice go for AA, they are nice people. This was bad experience with RAC.

Didn't track at first but I did buy about three weeks before the cover was due to start. Put claim in straightaway in January 2014, confirmed in May2014 and payable approx one week later. Happy!

Dreadful, wouldn’t accept my email address, apparently invalid but would use the same email address as a follow up reminder to pay! Email link on follow up wouldn’t accept my email address either! Eventually email address accepted (next day), after a two or three goes.
Customer Service not that helpful.
Had wanted to cover two cars with three different covers not anymore.

Purchased RAC cover rather than competitor as the cash back made it a good deal.
Tracked pretty much straight away, but has never been confirmed.
The statistics panel states that there is an average wait of 15 weeks for cashback to become payable - so I waited patiently.
Still no progress after 4 months, so I was going to submit a manual claim, but I cant because its now more than 100 days since I made my purchase.
Very frustrated and annoyed....

Tracked really fast, within day ish. Cashback received just under 4 months.
Although took a while to receive I would recommend the whole RAC package, cashback etc, made it a good deal.

2 yrs running I have tried for this offer and 2 yrs running they have not paid out despite my staying a customer and always paying on time. Wont try a third time

cashback tracked straight away and 3 months later still hadn't paid out. Next time I checked it had been declined.
FURIOUS - only went with them as TBC made them cheaper than AA. Will look to cancel policy now and see if possible.

Purchased in May, cashback appeared not to track as no mention was made of RAC in my merchants visited. Raised a query with tcb followed by several nudges and messages. Finally, this month, 3 months after purchase, cashback appeared and went straight to payable. Ive now spent it :)

Should have received £30 but instead have been credited with £20. Terms and conditions state that cashback would track at a lower rate and then increase after 6 months. 6 months have passed, cashback amount remained at £20 and now I cannot lodge a cashback query. Will not be using RAC again

Cashback-wise I did have problems with the right amount not appearing and had to contact TopCashback but got it resolved in the end. However, can I recommend no one uses RAC for their car breakdown cover. I've just tried to cancel my policy after having to get a new car (the policy had over 6 months left to run) and they won't give me a refund - apparently that's part of their terms and conditions (not made clear on their website unless you read the small print of course). I get a refund on my tax disk, a refund on my insurance but not on my breakdown - what a money grabbing excuse for a company. They make the 'cooling off' period of 14 days apparent but not that you will then not get ANY kind of refund after this time period. If you challenge it they say you should have read the terms and conditions. Having read some of the other horror stories of people having to deal with this company (some on their own forum!) I will never be taking out a policy with them again and would encourage others to do the same.

Update to last review - TCB said wait for the cash back time 26 weeks!!! Think I have waited long enough!!! Waited since Jan!!! Beware if you need your cash back quicker.

never got the cashback showing at £60.60 will go back to the AA next year i rang the RAC and asked why i never got the payment and they said it had nothing to do with them and would not help.
