Not as good as they were
Always use Hotels.com via Topcashback and never had any issues until recently. I now have rewards dating back 3 months that haven't been paid when in the beginning they would of been paid almost immediately after the stay. I'm starting to open disputes which is both annoying and time consuming. If they continue not to pay out I will start to book my work travel elsewhere especially since their own rewards scheme is now dreadful.

Does track, but DON'T use the Hotels.com app
I have booked repeatedly with Hotels.com in the last couple of years, and I have found that while it does track reliably through Topcashback, you MUST use the desktop browser, as it will not track through the app. Payout will come some time after you complete your stay.

One star
Never tracks on mobile app and hotels.com always decline a dispute saying they can’t trace the order. Does however usually track on a desk top although don’t expect to receive the higher cashback rate

Not a good cashback option. As per other messages, always declines, disputes take months to resolve and when it does, you either dont get paid out or its for a fraction of the sum! Not worth it.
if you just use Hotels.com better to go direct, even then , not a great deal to be had as other sites are cheaper for the same thing!
Will be avoiding from now on.

Declines half the time
In the last 5 years, I've booked through Hotels.com 14 times. They have declined the cashback 7 times for no apparent reason. I continue to use them if their prices are better than other sites, but you have to expect not to get your cashback, so don't count that into the booking price.

Do not use
Declined my claim saying they couldn't trace my transaction despite all the proof otherwise. I should have booked directly through the hotel and got their points that way - don't make the same mistake I did - there are many many people in the same boat and despite TC trying to help, Hotels.com are just not interested in customer service.

Usually ok
Used the cashback for Hotels.com many times, I have over £1500 in cashback with just Hotels.com. However, when it doesn't track or tracks incorrectly, its difficult to log a claim against them. Hotels.com\TCB tend to group earnings together and it makes it very difficult to understand if you have actually received the cashback of not. When you question it, I often get told "its been awarded" but I can never find it in the earnings page.

Horrible!
I booked my travel/holiday through TCB and looked around for the best rate available with hotel and travel partners. Hotels.com had the best rate, and so I booked my hotel with them.
I paid over £500 for the booking, expecting a good percentage cashback. It all went through and looked good. However, when it came to paying the cash back...nothing! I was told the transaction hadn't been registered!?
I raised a complaint and challenge, however, nothing changed...it has me disappointed with Hotels.com AND with Top. Cash Back! I have actually started using another cashback site because of this!

Don't use the app if you want cashback!
Through trial and error I have found that cashback not only doesn't track if you use the app, but Hotels.com will ALWAYS decline the cashback amount.
5 bookings in the last 12 months, 3 through app, all declined. 2 made on my desktop Apple Mac using Safari and all tracked successfully and paid within 3 months of completed stay.

Dreadful
Cashback now rarely, if ever, tracks and disputes have to be opened. This drags on for months and often results in Cashback being declined on the grounds that ‘ Transaction cannot be traced’.
This company has become a joke and the change in its own rewards programme has also turned a pretty decent regards programme into something not with bothering with. You are better to book direct with the hotel.

Cashback does not always track
Every time I cancel a booking it is because cashback did not track. In general, this happens a lot. Also, cashback earned can take many month sometime years to be up for payout :(

Reliable cashback
I usually book hotels with hotels.com purely for the fact that they are reliable with their cashback payouts through topcashback. I've used other hotel booking agents and they've denied all knowledge of my cashback claims which is very frustrating.
