Failed to honour the cashback offer
Purchased car insurance through Topcashback using a Gocompare link. jumped through every hoop, no ad blockers etc. Expecting £40 cashback, they have refused to pay out despite providing the car insurance policy number. Apparently I was not the last referral, but they are not saying who was. So as far as I am concerned they might as well have taken £40 out of my wallet.

Lull you in with a good cashback offer then don't pay out. Scam artists
Isn't it funny how all the lower cashback amounts track with no problem (I've never had an eBay cashback not track) but when you come to try and get cashback for a bigger amount, for some reason they don't track. This is the official reply I got when I appealed my claim:
'We have now received a final response for your claim and been informed that we haven’t been seen as the reason this order was placed. This means we have been unable to obtain any money back on your behalf.'
Look at the all the other 1 star reviews as well. They clearly just don't want to pay up.

Cashback Declined - wish I’d read these reviews first
Made a valid purchase and cashback was declined. Put in a claim and waited 2 months … cashback declined again with no reason given. Will never use gocompare ever again and will advise others to do the same.

I obtained a car insurance quote on 18/2/25 through ‘Top Cash back’ and choose ‘Go.compare website’ just after 8pm to get £40 cash back. I choose ‘Churchill Plus’ for my new car insurance quote in Go.compare website, I press the button to go to the ‘insurer website’ but a error message flagged up a few times and Go compare could not direct me to Churchill Plus website to make payment!
At the end I have to call up ‘Churchill Insurance’ and gave them my quote reference no. CHU13321224916 and paid over the phone ‘£524.27’ as required (1 annual payment), in order to purchase a new car insurance starting 8/3/2025! Churchill insurance staff guaranteed me the quote ref I gave them came from Go.compare website and I will definitely get my £40 cash back through Top Cash back!
In this circumstances, Go Compare website is not user friendly and disturbed the smooth online experiences from ‘ Top Cash Back’ through to ‘Go.Compare’ then to ‘Churchill Plus’ insure website, leaving customer like myself having purchased the car insurance through ‘Top Cash Back’ and ‘Go compare website’ not knowing whether we will get the £40 cash back as promised by Go Compare, causing unnecessary anxiety to customers!

Zero Stars!
I'm not sure why but TCB didn't publish my original eloquent review so here's another that hopefully everyone will see. Don't use Go.Compare if you're factoring in cashback against the total cost of your insurance. At least nine times out of ten, the cashback will be declined for no good reason, as was mine. I've been using TCB for years so I know how to follow all the steps for receiving cashback but still Go.Compare declined. I've only given them one star as it's impossible to give zero. Just to reiterate, DO NOT USE!!

Declined despite giving evidence ??
Absolutely disgraceful! Took out car insurance with the AA. Went through Go.compare via TopCashback. As always, it doesn’t track if it’s a decent amount. Put in another claim (have to do this constantly). Gave them all the info (Policy number, amount, date, time). Months later they reject it and I’m sent a cheeky guide that implies it’s MY FAULT.
Too many greedy companies that refuse to payout to genuine customers ??????

Legitimate purchase, the only actual reason I went via go.compare was because of the cashback and because of their reputation and recognised in most households. Originally tracked as 0.00 (which it did say it would so no major surprises there). Then I had a notification to say it had been declined. When I went to fill in a claim it asked me which of the visits I had made a purchase on and I could see that before it declined it *HAD* changed to a £45 transaction in between 0.00 and the declined one but ultimately still turned down. Not impressed and hopefully will be resolved via the claims team, has been 'put on ice for 5 days' in case the merchant resolves it by themselves.

Had to manually chase, but received cashback quickly!
Used the TopCashBack compare service and go.compare, cashback did not appear, even after a few weeks, put a cashback missing request in, with the details, received a follow up email confirming my purchase and have now received the cashback.
We done to the TopCashBack team for the prompt follow up and £42 cashback.
