EDF Residential & EV Reviews

While some members who chose EDF to be their energy supplier have reported issues with their cashback, many members have left positive EDF Energy reviews, with some saying theirs was paid out faster than expected. Comments include “good cashback rate for switch over — two to three months to pay out” and “brilliant. Saved on dual fuel and cashback showed within five hours”.

Our members seem to love the company too. One said: “EDF have been very efficient and helpful in setting up my account and dealing with any queries or problems I have had.” Others praised the fact their site is easy to use and the switching process not confusing at all. EDF Energy review feedback includes “a very good service and an easy changeover” and “smooth transition from my previous supplier — kept me informed at every stage”.

Alas, this was my poorest TopCashBack experience - as EDF failed to honour their offer. No other TopCashBack has resulted in such a lengthy claim... which in the end was rejected as TopCashBack was "not identified as the last referrer". This was disappointing as I had cleared my Web Browser's cookies, on express reason to try to ensure this cashback worked smoothly. Therefore my perspective is that EDF failed to honour the £50 cashback offer via TopCashBack. Thankfully there are alternative energy suppliers out there...

Signed up to EDF until 2014 in July. Top Cashback confirmed on same day. Become supplier in September and am now paying them 106 pounds per month. Claimed 20 cashback but, despite efforts by Top Cashback, they are refusing to pay. They say I used another discount website to access their site but this is not correct. Very disappointed and would suggest others take care.

Applied on 18/08/11 and was emailed with a conformation straight away. Did not track so submitted a claim on 06/09/11. Became confirmed on 04/10/11 and payable today 02/11/11. Satisfied overall.

This is my first cashback not to track. (I followed the advice to delete cookies but am still waiting two months later.) The fuel has only just changed over, twice as long as expected.

Tracked quickly and payable within 2 months. Great cashback experience. Sadly for EDF their tariffs have made them a victim of their own success. Despite a large recruitment drive (700 new staff) they suffer from long telephone queues. Apart from that, however, the switch went well.

On 09/08/11, I purchased the EDF Energy gas and electricity duel products through TopCashBack. EDF Energy acknowledged my purchase as it was tracked successfully by TopCashBack. I have made a screen-shot as evidence to show that I am entitled to £20.20 cashback. I am now a new EDF Energy customer, as I started paying my gas and electricity bills from September. However, I just found out today that my £20.20 cashback is withdrawn from my TopCashBack account. As a member of TopCashBack, I feel I have been let down and misled by false promises, and have been grossly cheated. This kind of breach of promises has happened to me several times with different merchants advertised here – I have complained and submitted missing cashback claims. I am beginning to wonder whether there is something more sinister going on here which steals members money in the form of promised cashback.

The cashback I received from this merchant was part of the reason for taking up the offer (80GBP). There were a number of issues with receiving this Cashback partly because EDF didn't recognise the reference numbers they themselves gave me. However, TCB were persistent in submitting and resubmitting my claim to the Merchant and eventually I've been credited. I've just noticed the claim status is now "PAYABLE" so after a LOOOONG time coming it's finally completed. Thanks goes out to TCB for their assistance with this one!!

Quick update from me too. Similar experiences with this company it seems. On the plus side: while edf had lost all our online data when we first signed up, strangely the £80 cashback did eventually materialize, which admittedly does make it a good offer. However, seven months into our contract, and after multiple enquiries, our gas account is still not active on their system. Getting electricity bills only, with gas payments included on the electricity bill - big mess! Customer service friendly, but unable to resolve anything. Not recommended due to incompetence!

Although EDF's cashback is a bit on the low side, I am still of the opinion that TopCashBack is still the leader - as far as cashbacks are concerned.
