Hospice in the Weald

The charity gives, individualised, supportive care for all patients with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their carers and families. The hospice comprises of a 17 bed In-Patient Unit and a Day Therapy Centre offering a range of treatments, complementary therapies and clinics. There is also a new 'Hospice in the Home' service providing 24 hour advice and support to the community and all nursing and medical services are offered alongside family support, bereavement counselling and spiritual care, if wanted. All their services and activities are supported by a skilled and dedicated team of volunteers. No charge is made for these services which are provided on the basis of need rather than ability to pay. Hospital Broadcasting Sheffield Radio

HBS is a registered charity staffed entirely by volunteers of all ages and today broadcasts 24/7 to the Royal Hallamshire, Jessop Wing, Northern General and Weston Park Hospitals. From visiting wards with a record player in 1976 we now have a state of the art audio system with two fully functioning studios providing patients, visitors and staff with high quality entertainment and the feeling of being part of the Sheffield hospital community. HBS Radio serves the patients, staff and visitors in Sheffield's three NHS hospitals.
