Farnham & Wey Valley Cats Protection

Like all Cats Protection Branches, our work is primarily to bring into our care stray, unwanted, injured, neglected and any cat that needs our help. This is carried out by our small but dedicated band of volunteers who foster the cats in their own homes. The main areas we cover are Farnham, Alton, Bordon and Aldershot and the surrounding areas. It may be that the cats are only with us for a week or two but quite often, particularly if they are injured or ill, they stay with us for a long period of time until they are fit and well, have been microchipped and vaccinated and in the case of a cat over 4 to 6 months old, neutered. They then go on to our homing list for adoption to good homes. Whilst they are with us we need to provide food, litter and pay their vets fees, all of which runs to thousands of pounds a month

FarPlace Animal Rescue

Farplace is a registered charity in the UK. We specialise in 2 key areas of work: - 1. Animal welfare and rescue of animals, including many animals others turn away 2. Environmental protection, habitat creation and development As we do not have kennels, we are very limited in the number of dogs we can take in, but we can often help with other animals. We have many animals available for adoption, including cats, rabbits and ferrets. We are also the home of St.Strompus Hospice for Sick Cats – a haven for feral cats who are FIV positive. We believe that FIV should not mean an automatic death sentence, and have established this hospice in one of our existing buildings to enable us to give these cats optimum care.

Friends of the Special Nursery

We are the charity of Aberdeen Maternity Hospitals Neo-Natal Unit for premature and sick babies. Our committee is made up of Parents and Nursing staff that want to give something back to the Unit by supporting the professionals who provide such a high standard of care. Having a baby is a life changing experience. If you do find yourself and your baby in the Neo-Natal Unit it most probably means that your little bundle has been born too early or too sick and no matter the outcome challenging times are ahead. Since 1984 we have helped hundreds of families through these difficult times. Many spend a few days with their baby in the Unit whilst other babies need specialist care for longer and the Unit becomes their second home.
