National Trust Halloween events

Here's what we found happened last year and what you can expect:

Trail through spooky forests and explore haunted houses this Halloween with a National Trust membership. The National Trust looks after hundreds of properties, gardens and areas of beauty and historical significance, so we’re hoping that many of their locations will be hosting spooktacular events this October.

Although the National Trust Halloween celebrations were a little different last year, they were still able to provide spooky days out for the whole family to enjoy. You could have stepped out into nature, as selected venues were offering a host of themed Autumnal walks, including pumpkin trails and ‘Batty about Spiders’ trails — perfect for kids of all ages to get exploring. Feeling a little braver? Then you could have ventured into some of the National Trust’s spookiest buildings and learnt about the unexplained happenings and eerie goings-on in the building’s history. If you had suddenly started to feel a cold chill, then you may have encountered one of the many ghosts rumoured to haunt several of the National Trust’s scariest properties.

This year, we’re hoping that National Trust Halloween events will be back with a bang to offer frights and thrills. If you're struggling to decide where to visit, then you can get free access to over 500 locations when purchasing an annual or lifetime membership to the National Trust. Choose between individual memberships, joint memberships or family memberships. Cheaper, individual memberships are also available to those aged 18-25 and 17 and under. Children under five also go in for free, so the whole family can enjoy unlimited days out this Halloween. Don't forget, you can extra savings on your membership when taking advantage of our scarily good cashback offers.

National Trust at Christmas

Here's what we found happened last year and what you can expect:

Escape the hustle and bustle of the high street this festive season at National Trust places in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Visit the website and discover what’s on at locations run by the National Trust at Christmas and find inspiration for great days out and new experiences.

You can be sure there are lots of things to see and do at places in their care this winter and you can search for locations decked out for the festive season with National Trust Christmas lights and winter illuminations. Light up the dark nights with a show of colour and dazzling displays at places near you. It’s sure to lift your spirits when you take in a festive show at a local place filled with colour and joy. While National Trust Christmas events in 2020 were a bit up in the air, hopefully this year will be much better.

This year, you’ll find winter lights at Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire, Christmas lights at Belton House in Lincolnshire and Christmas lights at Killerton, Devon, for example. You should also look out for details of their popular Christmas markets and Father Christmas events, along with lots more gift ideas, activities and experiences to share. In the meantime, you can book ahead for Christmas lights and winter illuminations at a place near you.

You can also head over to the shop and browse National Trust Christmas cards, advent calendars, food, decorations and fragrance. Their festive essentials are inspired by the special places they care for. From garlands to Christmas Eve games, festive tree decorations and luxury Christmas biscuits, you can find all the inspiration you need to make the holidays extra special this year.
