Another rejected after six months wait & no explanation! - Yes, total joke, don't bother to fell for the halifax/topcashback con of being told that they would get £50 cashback for opening a account but have ended up with £0.00 Cashback. :-(

Halifax have refused the cashback and have provided no reason why. Stay well clear of them. They can't be trusted.

My husband and I both opened new halifax reward accounts, have waited forever to see some cashback register, nothing,after chasing it up a few times we have finally both been told that our cashback has been declined. There does not seem to be any reason for this except they are an untrustworthy company.

Cashback rejected after 6 months!! That is disgraceful! That is a spam to trick people opening an account!! Rubbish bank services as well, stuffs are not helpful with my bank account queries... (Although I have to say Santander is a lot worse)

I would offer 0 rating if possible as one of the worst merchants on the TCB board! cashback declined with no reason and customer service was so appalling! This was one of the banks which had to be rescued by my tax only adds to the insult!

Opened a reward current account, Halifax refused to pay topcashback apparently, no cashback received. Very disappointed. Don't bother with this cashback, it doesn't work.

Like so many other comments here, my cash back claim has been outstanding for 5+months. It reflects on Halifax poorly, as well as tcb. If you’re going to try a current account with Halifax do it directly, and save yourself any disappointment.

I am another unhappy Halifax client. Like the rest I did everything required, account opened in September. Manual claim made October 7 2010, then ...nothing. Lots of nudges...nothing. This offer is still going (for £35) now. How crazy when no-one has admiytted getting the TCB cashback. I think the offer is very bad PR for TCB, lots of unhappy people who won't trust TCB in future. Management at TCB should gather all the claims go to Halifax and get it sorted....unless actually Halifax has paid TCB and the money is being held or used. Maybe we should write to Halifax and ask them directly if TCB has been paid their fee for finding us new customers and did it include the £50 inducement. Pontivy1

After reading Romans comments I thought I'd ring up Halifax and ask about their promised £50. A very helpful person told me that I should have the money within 5 days! Funny how they can always find these things out when you ask. If any of you signed up for a separate £50 offer direct from Halifax then get in touch with them. Lets see if the TCB offer comes to light too.

********WARNING PLEASE READ BEFORE OPENING AN ACCOUNT******** Just to update my review from 31/12/10: 1. Account opened on 19/9/10 via TopCashBack expecting £50 cashback :-) 2. It never tracked :-( 3. Loads of problems with the account initially which took about a week to sort out (3 different branch visits & 3 telephone calls etc) :-( 4. Filed a claim for missing cashback on 30/9/10 :-( 5. Received reply from TopCashBack to my claim on 12/10/10 stating it could take several weeks for retailer to get back to them :-( 6. Sent 6 nudges :-( 7. As on 1/2/11 I'm still awaiting a reply from Halifax/TopCashBack to my claim for missing £50 cashback :-( Has anyone ever received any cashback (£50 or other) from Halifax when opening a Halifax Reward Current Account as the reviews suggest not????

Same as all the others. Transferred my account in September 2010, no sight of cashback as yet. Halifax also offered a separate £50 cash bonus paid straight into the new account after 3 months. Guess what, nothing seen of it! When transferring the account, 2 Direct Debits got forgotten about. The account itself is fine and running well now, but sadly it's another case of a merchant not honouring cashback pledges.

Rubbish - like the rest of the review, I applied in September for £50 cashback. It didn't track and the enquiry is still open. Nudging doesn't seem to help. This was also the first time I used TopCashBack so was doubley disapointed.

Similar experience to others, I applied for this account through Top Cashback in September and still haven't got my £50 cashback, despite opening an enquiry in October and sending numerous nudges. The customer service I received from Halifax was also awful. I had to visit my local branch around 5 times before they eventually set my account up properly and it turned out it took them so long because they lost my application form! Really disappointed, there should be a better system to trace missing cashback, with customers receiving more information from Top Cashback regarding the actions being taken to trace the cashback.

VERY IMPORTANT SO BEWARE - ITEM NEVER TRACKED SO NEVER GOT £50 CASHBACK!!!!!!!! :-( (STILL AWAITING FOR HALIFAX TO REPLY AFTER MAKING A CLAIM THROUGH TOPCASHBACK :-( DEC 2010) Also had loads of problems initially with the account - took 3 branch visits & 3 telephone calls before we could pay any money into the account!!!! :-(

UPDATE: I've finally managed to get my £50 cashback by actually telephoning Halifax directly (08457 20 30 40). I told the person about what had happened when opening the account via TCB last September, all the initial problems, & now being told that my cashback claim had been rejected by Halifax after putting a claim in via TCB. I also said that there's a lot of people leaving Halifax negative feedback on the TCB site because of having their claims rejected. After consulting their supervisor they agreed to give me a one off cash payment of £50 for this, & said that they would refer this matter to another department to be looked into. Hope this helps people get their cashback. :-)

Gutted. After opening and using the account since october and submitting a Manual claim, I have just heard that my cashback was rejected by Halifax. This is outrageous, they seem to have paid out on a minority only. Plus my husband's has just been rejected too! I can imagine one being rejected but very strange both of ours have been rejected. Why? I do understand the basis of topcashback is that it doesn't always get paid, fair enough when entering a competition or similar but OPENING A BANK ACCOUNT it is easy to check whether that has been done and how genuine it is!

My cashback claim was rejected after 6 months. TCB claim even thought Halifax have admitted my account has been opened and paid into they still have rejected it. I would advise anyone that is reading this to stay away, don't waste your time.

Well, another disatisfied customer. Opened this account in September and the cashback declined in April. this is a joke! If you want the cashback, avoid this scam. I cannot see it paying out to anyone, it is a disgrace and tcb should take action or they will lose their reputation. Terry
