Compare & save with comparison plus cashback in one.
Get on the right track to saving money by taking up one of our East Midlands Trains discount codes and cashback deals when booking tickets. They operate both long distance and regional rail services throughout the UK via a network of lines which serve passengers travelling to and from London from South Yorkshire and through the East Midlands, as well as people visiting the east or north of England.
You can buy cheap train tickets for all UK rail journeys exclusively online by searching for great value advance fares. Browse their deals and offers, or use their Best Fare Finder to compare tickets and book online, while you will also be able to view train times, live train information and service updates.
Buy National Railcards and browse car parking charges at their stations, while you can also save when travelling by Eurostar if you are planning a trip abroad with your family. If you are going on holiday and travelling by train to the airport, meanwhile, you can take three items of luggage on board with you.
The fact they offer four main ticket types means you are sure to find one that is right for you, which you can buy using our East Midlands Trains discounts. Their Anytime tickets offer you complete flexibility and are great if you are unsure when you will need to travel.
An Anytime single is valid for one journey, while with an Anytime return, you can leave within five days of your ticket date and travel back within one calendar month. What's more, they are valid on any train, any time. Off Peak tickets offer some degree of flexibility and also allow you to make a saving compared to Anytime tickets.
Super Off Peak tickets will see you make great savings if you can travel during quieter times, though you must travel on the date displayed on the ticket and return within one calendar month. You can make massive savings with Advance tickets if you are able to really plan ahead.
However, they are only available for selected services on their London and Liverpool to Norwich routes, subject to availability. They are available for first and standard class and can be booked as much as 12 weeks in advance, while you will save more the earlier you book.
If you travel on the same route each day on your daily commute or regularly use it for business, East Midlands Trains season tickets can be purchased for seven days or a month, while annual tickets are also available.
You can buy one for any route and they will allow you to use any train on any day during the chosen period of validity. If you buy a monthly or annual season ticket, which you can buy online using the booking tool on the East Midlands Trains website, these will include weekend travel too.
Season tickets can be bought for standard or first class travel, and should you opt for the latter, you can benefit from free Wi-Fi, spacious seats and a complimentary breakfast on certain weekday services. If you use your season ticket to travel to London, you can add a London Underground ticket.
If your train is delayed by more than 30 minutes, their Delay Repay scheme provides you with an easy way to receive compensation.
If you suffer such a delay, all you will need to do is complete the form you will find on the Delay Repay page of the East Midlands Trains website within 28 days of the affected journey and upload your ticket or booking information. You must also choose which one of the four available payment methods suits you best.
Provide them with the name and address of your bank, as well as your sort code and account number, and they can pay you via bank transfer, while you can also have the compensation paid into a PayPal account which is linked to a credit or debit card, as long as you use the registered PayPal email address when completing the form. You can also opt to receive a cheque or rail travel vouchers, which can be used as full or part payment for any ticket, from any station and for use with any UK rail company.
When it comes to the amount of compensation you can claim, it depends on the length of delay and whether you are a season ticket holder or not. For delays of 30-59 minutes, they will give you 50% of the cost of a single ticket or 50% of the relevant portion held for the journey. For delays between an hour and one hour and 59 minutes, they will refund you the entire cost of a single ticket or 100% of the relevant portion held for the journey.
For delays of two hours or more, you will receive 100% of the cost of the single or return ticket held for the journey. For season ticket holders, the compensation is based on the proportionate cost of a single journey, up to a maximum payment of the full day's journey cost per day. If you have a weekly ticket, you will get 1/10th of the ticket cost, while you will receive 1/40th of the cost of a monthly ticket and 1/464th the cost of an annual ticket.
