I have made five rentals with Avis this summer and none have tracked. All remain in the claims process so far with none settled yet.

Despite a cleared browser cashback (a significant amount for a large rental amount) did not track. Correct order number as used for rental collection and even Avis Preferred account number were given. Claim process went unanswered for 10 months, when finally Avis declined the transaction without giving any reason. Very poor.

Cood rate, but did not track. Paid after submitting claim though after 3 months.
Main problem with these guys is you never get a reply from them by email (despite confirmation that they are dealing with your complaint !). Perhaps because they have one of those pay per minute phone lines ? My advice contact them on Facebook instead or seek out a non paying number on "Say No To 0870" website.

Can't fault them. May cost a little more than other suppliers, but no hidden extra's, e.g. must pay for a tank of fuel and return empty, no waiting at the airport, plane to car in under 20 mins and drop car off in another country, fab.

On the whole it has been easy to use the service. However, for someone using Avis weekly, I have not been cashback since April and there is a pretty long delay now, the service is good but in my experience their payback period po. Also, I have no idea when they are likely to do so and this is very poor.

Had several transactions with Avis, all abroad, all pay later and all have tracked quickly at the sterling rate although I never cancel or change a booking. Excellent!

Mote the word cashback on STERLiNG bookngs sold. If you pay later when you collect he car abroad and you pay in euros then no cashback for you. Agree with others that be careful with Avis putting a few extras on when you collect the car. Cars are usually good quality and roadworthy,

Good news is that they seem to always pay my cashback even though I'm an Avis Preferred member. Bad news is that you need to watch out for clauses online that mean if you have to change or cancel the prepaid booking, you won't get your money or any differences back. Still you can probably use the buy now, pay later more expensive option for more flexibility but I haven't done that yet. Car hire is usually good.
