Panama

Expedia

It’s the beginning of a new year and we all have a spring in our step as to how we can improve on 2013. So how about in 2014 we all try and visit somewhere a little different? We’re not suggesting anything too drastic, but check out some of the best up and coming tourist spots which are sure to have something perfect for you. And don’t forget you can save 40% off hotels when booking from Expedia in their January Sale!

Panama

Panama

Still relatively off the beaten track for Europeans, Panama has it all. Panama is a country which is rich with history, wildlife and coffee. From the beautiful beaches of Bocos Del Toro which combines the Caribbean laid back attitude and South American jungles to the historic Panama Canal which is in its 100 year anniversary this year! With surfing, hiking or just lounging on the beach on offer, Panama has every avenue covered!

Zambia

Zambia

Zambia is home to many National Parks and perfect for safari, discovering and phenomenal sights. The most incredible is arguably devil’s pool which is in Victoria Falls where visitors can practically stare down the world’s largest waterfall! This is perfect for any adrenaline junkie or someone who wants to do something different. Book your flights and Hotel to Zambia and save 15% at Expedia!

Oman

Oman

Forget Dubai or Abu Dubai, Oman should be your next port of call in the United Arab Emirates. Like a lot of the region, Muscat is fantastic for shopping with its abundance of shopping malls and home to some of the finest souks in the Middle East. See the turtles in Ras Al Hadd or visit The Hawiyay Najim Park which is home to the Bimmah Sinkhole- the perfect spot to escape the Omani heat.

Almeria

Almeria

A little closer to home, Almeria is Spain’s best kept secret. Unlike a lot of the Spanish tourist spots which have been taken over by boozy Brits, Almeria has a plethora of stunning, secluded beaches, natural and national parks and even a desert (which is where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed)!

Chengdu

Chengdu

Chengdu is often overlooked by the more famous cities in China but is quickly becoming the place to go in Asia. Home to the world’s largest building and 2000 years of history, Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province and its forests are home to Giant Pandas. The Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area is known for its colourful lakes, snow clad mountains, valleys and virgin forest goes some way to explaining why Sichuan is known as The Heavenly State!
