How would you respond to a bad wedding gift?

Weddings are BIG! Big for the bride and groom, big for the relatives and big for the guests. With the amount of effort that can go into planning a wedding, and the cost of all the food, the venue and entertainment, it isn’t surprising that people get extremely stressed about their big day. It’s best to try and avoid upsetting the happy couple, if possible, which might be harder than it sounds.

If you have been invited to a wedding and are buying a gift, there can be a lot of pressure to get the right one. The Daily Mail recently featured an extreme example of a bad reaction to a Wedding Gift that you could only dream of.

We would love some of our members to give us some tips on what not to buy as well, tell us by commenting below what your worst wedding gifts were and help others avoid the mistakes!

So, how can you avoid a Wedding Gift showdown?

If you’re struggling for ideas you should look at our gifts section for inspiration, where you can get cashback on such treats as personalised champagne, experience days or even a luxury hotel stay. If you’re looking for more practical gifts we also have cashback with Next, Debenhams and Marks and Spencer to help set up the newlyweds for married life.

Of course if you are worried about what sort of gifts you might receive you can always register and let everyone know what you want well ahead of time (Big screen TV for those of you wondering what to get me), just remember to let your guests know where they can get cashback from, oh and make sure they use your tell a friend link and get your bonus for showing them the way in.

If you’re fretting about the cost of your wedding you might want to take a look at our wedding cashback, we have cashback and discounts on everything from food to rings, which will help take the edge off the planning and could help build a nice little bit extra spending money for the honeymoon. Nothing says happily married like lying on a sun soaked beach.

Let us know if you have used Topcashback for your wedding planning or gift, and let us know how much you managed to save, we would love to know we were part of your special day! Make sure to save me some cake.
