Aviva Home Insurance Reviews

The fact they offer value policies seems to be a popular reason why our members decide to provide positive feedback having purchased home insurance from Aviva. One reviewer says they have used Aviva “many times for all insurance purchases”, while others state they have been happy with their “competitive home insurance”.

On the whole, members are also pleased with how quickly their cashback tracks and pays out, with comments including “paid out on time, tracked on time. Why can’t other merchants be like this?”, “this must be the easiest thing I have ever done - taken out home insurance and got cashback at the same time” and “just take out a policy and TopCashback do the rest”. Another of our members says their cashback was logged very quickly, confirmed and made available to them exactly when they said it would.

Aviva.co.uk has only a one-star rating on Trustpilot, though you will find many four and five-star reviews which lavish them with praise, with customers saying things like “I really like Aviva as they helped me all the way”, “quick, courteous and also the cheapest cover each time” and “every time I have dealt with Aviva they have done everything that the policy says they should do, with no issues”.

Their call centre staff are also praised for being knowledgeable and polite when resolving issues, while someone who says they have used Aviva for three years commends them on their great customer service. One customer highlights the fact that they reported the loss of a £4,000 ring at 9.30am and by 10am had received an email confirming the full amount, minus the £100 excess, was to be paid to replace it from the store it was purchased from.

Posted earlier in the week when I found my expected cashback of around £65 had been reduced to £0.00, however have just found they have reinstated my cashback, although still awaiting confirmation, and have read the comments below from topcashback saying there was a problem with cashback claims from Jan/Feb so it looks as though this is being rectified, thank you

tracked fine for about 6 weeks then it has suddenly disappeared have used aviva before and never had any problems before. hopefully this is only a hiccup and all will be sorted

We are posting to try to keep members informed of a situation that has occurred this week. We are aware that a number of this merchant’s transactions have been incorrectly declined for January and February transactions. The merchant is aware of this and are working to rectify this on member’s accounts. Our sincere apologies for any confusion caused. We are looking into this as a high priority and this should hopefully be rectified on member’s accounts in the next 7 – 10 days.

Took out insurance policy in January, cashback tracked at £65 as expected, and has been awaiting confirmation since then, however I have just found that the cashback has now been reduced to being payable at £0.00. Have submitted a claim to topcashback, which is "on ice" now for another 6 weeks before they can even chase it, really annoyed, not sure if I will get my cashback at all now, will never use company again if I do not, BEWARE

Oh dear! It was all going so well!! Cashback appeared quickly, but for some reason has just been put to £0.00 by Aviva. Have submitted a claim with TCB, but they say the claim will be put on ice for 4 months until the policy is validated. Not holding out much hope, but if it doesn't get reinstated to the £65 promised, then Aviva won't be seeing any more of my money again!

Everything tracked fine but exactly 1 week after the policy start date they suddenly decided to decline the cashback (it changed to 0.00 in my account on here). Call me cynical but this seems to have 'coincidently' happened now, at the point that if I now wanted to cancel the policy it would cost an admin fee of at least £52.50! I'm very experienced when it comes to cash back - I always get quotes direct from here, never click other affiliate links etc. I've also never had any other insurance cash back declined. Put simply, they're pulling a fast one here and the only reason I can think of is the cash back amount is roughly 30-35% of the transaction amount. They obviously don't want to pay what is legitimate cash back, which means I now have to wait until July until Topcashback are able to even submit an enquiry to them. I don't hold out much hope of ever getting the cashback.

Just taken out home insurance and cashback, showing as pending, has tracked with 24 hours. Just waiting now til August when it hopefully becomes payable!

Aviva first zeroed the £65 cashback offered then I questioned this and had to wait 3 months before they would look at the query. Aviva then reinstated the £65 and after a while they paid me £45. I queried why £20 was missing and am still awaiting the outcome. Slow job.

There was a delay in the pending cashback appearing on my account and understandably in view of the amount involved the time span set for granting cashback is quite long. However all was resolved satisfactorily and I was very pleased with the amount charged for insurance even before taking the cash back into account.

I have had some good cashback payments from Aviva insurance purchases in the past - however, the last transaction, initiated a\few weeks ago has not tracked yet? Will need to keep an eye on this

Excellant quote would probably have purchased regardless of cashback but cashback has made it better still. Cashback originally tracked as £45 but 3 days later has been changed to the £60 TCB offered. Well pleased.

Having clicked through to Aviva via TCB site to get a quote in order to compare with others not done from TCB - went back onto TCB and noticed that new quote had to be done in order to progress and qualify for cashback - this led to an increase in premium of £12 which am less than impressed with but overall cashback at £60 still outweighed competition However - on looking at Cashback rate - it appears to have been tracked at £45 so am very little better off and having to wait until Sept for the cahsback? Ridiculous
