On the subject of cashback, one delighted customer said: “Took out a new fuel supply with them in October, which was switched over by November. First Direct Debit came out in December and cashback immediately went from pending to payable.”

Other comments you’ll find include “nice little treat and pretty fast payment” and “very quick — paid as soon as my first month’s payment came out”. Another member stated: “Took out my boiler plan in October and received payout in February. The plan is great and they were out to service my boiler very quickly.” Others who have commented on the company said such things as “very easy to deal with” and “very helpful and efficient service — can’t fault them really”. While their overall rating on Trustpilot isn’t good, you will find some very positive SSE Energy review feedback.

One customer described them by saying: “Best energy company ever — so helpful, polite and value for money. I have energy and broadband with SSE for under £50 a month, which is fabulous.” Other remarks include “always friendly and helpful — any problems get sorted quickly and efficiently”, “I have been a customer of SSE for three years now and have nothing but praise for them” and “never had a single problem with SSE”. Switched to SSE as a new customer and after a wait of almost four months, cashback was declined (showing as £0.00). Could have got a similar deal with existing provider so the switch has been a complete waste of time and effort. Unless it is resolved I will not be using SSE again

Worst experience I have had offers £100 cash back but you get nothing moving I another supplier what a rip off.top cash don’t help either what a rip off

Changed my utilites to SSE at the end of July 18. My account is showing a pending value of £1 which was not the £46 which was advertised. As at November I am still waiting on the outcome of a missing claim.

A key reason for choosing SSE was because of their cashback offer. It tracked as £1 for a long time - assumed this was fine because I had to wait for my first bill 3 months later before cashback would be paid. Eventually, it came through as £0.00 payable, and because it was over 100 days, I had no way to bring this up with Top Cashback Customer Services. Avoid.

Took up an electric contract in Nov 2016. Put in a claim from to Top Cashback and after waiting 20 months have finally found out that claim has not been successful and cannot appeal because SSE no longer works with that network agency. Very poor.

Payment took four months to go from pending to confirmed. To become payable took 22 weeks which is average but is still poor.
