Cashback terms and exclusions

What will stop me getting cashback?
  • Cashback will not be paid in conjunction with any other offer, voucher or discount code unless stated.
  • To qualify for the offer existing British Gas customers need to follow the link on this page, log in to their account and book a smart meter installation. Cashback will only be paid once the meter installation has taken place.
  • Cashback is only available to customers who pay for their energy in advance via top up (Pay As You Go) and do not already have a smart meter installed in their property.
  • Occasionally smart meter installation is not successful due to circumstances out of customers control. If this happens we will honour the cashback payment.
  • If you cancel your smart meter installation appointment, or are not at home when our engineer visits to install smart meters you will not receive cashback.
  • Cashback will only be paid for a maximum of one purchase per TopCashback account.
  • To qualify for the offer customers who do not already have a gas and/or electricity supply with British gas need to follow the link on this page, sign up to British Gas as their new energy supplier and book a smart meter installation. Cashback will only be paid once the smart meter installation has taken place.
What else is essential?
  • Purchases must be completed immediately and fully online.
  • Cashback offer is subject to availability.
  • Cashback will take a minimum of 4 months to be confirmed from tariff switch date.
  • Cashback will not be paid on VAT, card payment fees, taxes or any other additional charges.
  • TopCashback will only send you the Cashback once British Gas confirms your energy tariff is active.
  • Only British Gas tariffs promoted on this page are eligible for cashback. Any other energy tariffs found on britishgas.co.uk will not be eligible for cashback. This applies to both dual fuel and single fuel tariffs.
  • You have 150 days to lodge a claim.
  • When purchasing both Gas & Electricty cashback will be awarded for both fuel types.
  • You will be eligible to redeem your cashback 3 months from the date you book your appointment as long as your smart meter has been installed within that period. Subject to availability.
What to do when
  • Cashback is paid by TopCashback only and British Gas accepts no liability. For any cashback claims please contact TopCashback customer support
  • A "Missing Cashback" query must be submitted within 100 days of the transaction, if the transaction does not track automatically.
  • We will make all reasonable endeavors to secure the payment of commission on a transaction but we do not and cannot make any guarantee in this regard.
About your purchase
  • Cashback on British Gas Energy will be limited to one payment per household per year
