Aviva Home Insurance Reviews

The fact they offer value policies seems to be a popular reason why our members decide to provide positive feedback having purchased home insurance from Aviva. One reviewer says they have used Aviva “many times for all insurance purchases”, while others state they have been happy with their “competitive home insurance”.

On the whole, members are also pleased with how quickly their cashback tracks and pays out, with comments including “paid out on time, tracked on time. Why can’t other merchants be like this?”, “this must be the easiest thing I have ever done - taken out home insurance and got cashback at the same time” and “just take out a policy and TopCashback do the rest”. Another of our members says their cashback was logged very quickly, confirmed and made available to them exactly when they said it would.

Aviva.co.uk has only a one-star rating on Trustpilot, though you will find many four and five-star reviews which lavish them with praise, with customers saying things like “I really like Aviva as they helped me all the way”, “quick, courteous and also the cheapest cover each time” and “every time I have dealt with Aviva they have done everything that the policy says they should do, with no issues”.

Their call centre staff are also praised for being knowledgeable and polite when resolving issues, while someone who says they have used Aviva for three years commends them on their great customer service. One customer highlights the fact that they reported the loss of a £4,000 ring at 9.30am and by 10am had received an email confirming the full amount, minus the £100 excess, was to be paid to replace it from the store it was purchased from.

I have been waiting since June 2012 for the cash back, took this policy only because of the Cashback being offered, I could have had it cheaper with another company but you think Aviva must be good!!!! Reported but still NO action from Top cash back. Will never use again.

Purchased policy and cash back tracked O.K right up until just before time for payment - then went to "£0"!! As the transaction was by then over 100 days old it was not possible to make a claim. Don't believe that I was in breach of any of Aviva's "rules" so feel conned into taking a policy then having cashback cancelled just prior to payment.

Still waiting for my cash back, bought home insurance in June 2nd 2012, still waiting for the company to make the cash back of £60.00 plus the 1% up lift from top cash back. Not happy with this transaction I feel that I could have it cheaper else where. I have had to go through customer care still waiting.

I purchased home insurance in May 2012 and as yet the cashback has not even been recognised. Claim submitted plus 1 nudge but still no luck. Perhaps I am one of the unlucky ones but this has cost me money.

Took my car insurance and home insurance out with Aviva, both were good deals and especially with the cash back offered. Car insurance tracked straight away but home insurance bought in June and didn't even track. Have had to submit a claim which was sent off to Aviva 4 weeks ago and have yet to hear back....disappointing.

I have purchased both house insurance and car insurance from Aviva. The first purchase was in April and has been payable for a while now. The car insurance through my wife's account is now confirmed in record time and I fully expect this to become payable soon too. The policies offered, even without the cashback were very competitive but with the cashback are outstanding. Nice one AVIVA!

I bought contents only insurance at £90 and was expecting £60 cashback. Nothing tracked and I never got my cashback. After 9 months of waiting for TCB to get feedback on my cashback from Aviva they finally said No to my claim stating that contents was only available for cashback when bought with buildings insurance. This was certainly not made clear when going through the motions of buying the insurance. If I had realised I wouldn't have taken out the policy with Aviva. The cashback made the insurance price competitive, so not to get the cashback cost me over the odds. Have recommended to TCB that Aviva make this situation clear.... just be aware!!!!

This didn't track for me (back in April 2012) I've logged a claim with TCB so fingers crossed! Cashback is generous if you can get it.

Purchased home insurance on June 9th 2012. Checked for cashback regularly, expected on September 30th. Suddenly appeared as 0 cashback; they claim I didn't meet their terms and conditions.....over the 100 days so can't put in a claim. Will be watching the cashback due on the Aviva car insurance bought in August very carefully.

Very disappointed that I did not get any cashback from Aviva. The cashback swayed me to go for their contents insurance. It was a £90 policy and I was expecting £60 cashback but it never materalised even though TCB chased this up for me. Won't be using Aviva again in a hurry.

I was expecting cashback for buying contents insurance last November but now, many months later, they declined saying you had to buy both home and contents insurance. I always check carefully before buying, so I feel misled. Now at least it is clear, but it was disappointing having to wait while it was "on ice" and then some more for nothing. For this reason I doubt I would buy from them again however at the time their price seemed competitive.

Cashback declined after over 1 year. Reason given was renewal which wasnt correct as it was a geniune new policy. Wording has been changed to "new customer" which if entered in the ad before would have saved me and TCB chasing for my cash

What a joke, can get house insurance from £180, with good cover from about £280. Aviva wanted £1024 for very basic cover. Dread to think what they would quote if I ticked the boxes for all the extra's.

after purchase didn't track (annoying) I put claim in to tcb. I was then put on ice for 4 months (even more annoying.) After waiting somewhere in the region of 9 months; I was then told that Aviva were not going to pay - very frustrating and disappointed by experience as this is not the first time I've had an issue with this company on tcb. After being stung by this company twice, I won't be using Aviva ever again. The bottom line is I'm not alone am I; it's happened to others too!

I bought Aviva home insurance in April and it hasn't even tracked after 3+ months. However, this has been reported to TCB and advised will need to wait until August for further info. I had previously bought Aviva car insurance which tracked the next day and paid out after the stated 3 months. This is therefore a disappointment as it has not progressed as initially advised.

I feel that after waiting for 5 months and then being told I had somehow not met the criteria when I beleive I did is frustrating. I am even considering cancelling my aviva home insurance as this is why I used them for the cashback and will tell everyone I know that I feel cheated.

I purchased Home Insurance in November 2012 and I have just requested payment today, 26 June 2012. Even with the time delay this merchant takes a while ( OVER 7 MONTHS) to pay out. I raised a query and it has been dealt with, but it is a long time to wait. With cash back (£60)the amount and policy was good but I think Top Cash Back could liase more with the big insurers to ensure speedier and hassle free payment.
