Chance for Childhood

''Street Child Africa works with local partner organisations in sub-Saharan Africa to support children in street situations who are often uncounted and unheard. These children are denied access to education and healthcare, subject to violence and overlooked by government policy. The daily injustices they face are violations of international human rights law. Street Child Africa recognises that children in street situations are entitled to protection, provision of services and participation in matters affecting them. Street Child Africa funds twelve grassroots organisations in eight countries that provide: * Street work * Education and skills training * Drop-in and residential centres * Basic healthcare services * Family tracing, mediation and reintegration.

Children First West Berkshire

The charity is established for the benefit of children in care of foster families and for young adults who have been in the care of West Berkshire. Our 1st project has been the setting up of a house for 4 young people -3 care leavers and a role model tenant. We furnish and maintain the property and offer ongoing support to the residents. We aim to provide them with independence skills – cooking, budgeting and more - with emotional and psychological support to enable them to achieve their potential. We support volunteers in their contact with the young people. Our 2nd project is just beginning – enabling foster families unable to afford a holiday to get away. Social Services fund a foster child but not the foster carers or their own children and the emotional and physical demands of being a carer makes a holiday important.

China Next Foundation

ChinaNext Foundation is a UK-registered charity formed in 2011 by a group of finance professionals and academics. We help the growth of young NGO leaders and social entrepreneurs in China, through UK-based training, exchange and other cultural activities. Our philanthropic approach is reflective of our background: instead of using direct donations, we prefer communicating and facilitating the development of young leaders (NextLeaders). We believe that the growth of those social entrepreneurs and NGO leaders is the best and most effective way of growing civil society in China. We are agnostic of charitable causes; and have supported a wide range range of areas. They range from equal education opportunities for rural migrant children to supporting the visually-impaired, to citizen participation at the local levels.
