Weird Fish Features

The Weird Fish story began in 1993, with a walk along a coastal path in Cornwall proving to be the inspiration for the brand.

Their aim was to produce well-priced, quality and distinctive lifestyle clothing which would become favourites with people who love the outdoor life. Twenty-five years later, those same values remain at the heart of everything one of the best-loved British casual clothing brands do.

In 1993, they discovered an airbrushing technique which they used to create their first T-shirt, and their artist T-shirts are still as popular as ever. A year later, using neglected knitting machines, they crafted a unique, slow-spun, triple-twist fabric and the now iconic Macaroni was born. Weird Fish was launched online in 2005, while the following year saw them open their first shop.

They now have 15 dotted around the UK. In 2011, the Weird and Wonderful Tour began visiting their favourite and out of the ordinary festivals, providing visitors with offers, competitions and giveaways, while they celebrated 20 years of the Macaroni three years later.

An exclusive range of bird-inspired artists T-shirts was created in 2015 to launch their partnership with the RSPB, who received the profits from them, while to celebrate their 25th anniversary, they refreshed their logo - although they kept the famous fish bones.

Their iconic range of Macaroni clothing originated in a Turkish knitting factory which had lay dormant until 1993.

Weird Fish realised the neglected machines it housed had the potential to produce a unique fabric which featured a triple-twist in the yarn. Because of its appearance, it was named the Macaroni, and the brand began to produce the first generation of slow-spun, pre-grooved cotton slub sweatshirts.

The item soon became a hit thanks to its comfort, quality and durability. They have since produced an exclusive and diverse collection of Macaroni items which are divided into Classic, Tech and Active ranges. The Tech range is packed full of technical features and additional zipper pockets, while they are finished with contour stitching.
