The history of the Trespass brand can be traced back to 1938 and the establishing of Jacobs & Turner Ltd in Glasgow.

Although they began by providing uniforms and other clothing to large organisations, including the local police force, they soon started to manufacture products which would go on to shape their future - anoraks and waterproof jackets.

Their outdoor clothing range continued to expand and the 1980s saw them begin to export items to countries around the world. It was during this decade that Trespass was actually born as the company decided to launch a dedicated brand for high-performance outdoor clothing, and they began focusing on ski wear, plus specialist gear and equipment.

The 1990s saw them decide to open a few select retail stores - a move which has resulted in them now operating a large network of stores in the UK and others in mainland Europe. As well as opening stores, Trespass also began developing their own trademark fabrics, including Tres-tex, Softshell and AirTrap, while they won their third consecutive British Apparel Export Award in 2002.

In 2013, they were selected to be the official uniform provider of the following year's Commonwealth Games in their home city of Glasgow, while they also opened their 150th UK store. The brand continues to develop and 2017 saw them launch Trespaws - a range of clothing and accessories for dogs.
