Once Upon a Smile was founded in August 2011, by Daniel Jillings and Danny Miller, to provide emotional and practical support to bereaved families, after it became apparent that there was a lack of support for families after the death of a loved one, specifically a parent or child/sibling. One by One Dog Rescue

Our aim is to help ensure the long-term welfare of all dogs which arrive into the care of One by One Dog Rescue. Since we began in 2017 we have rehomed over 200 dogs and will continue in our mission for as long as there is a demand for us to provide rescue. Subject to space, but irrespective of condition, age, temperament or health, we will support any dog in need of care and shelter until we rehome them into loving new homes. When each dog is adopted from the rescue, their adoption fee will fund the transport, neutering, vaccination and associated medical costs of the next dogs that come into our care.

In 2005 we began delivering a football project to 7 children from the Canterbury estate, Little Horton, with 5 volunteers. Today they offer a range of activities to 500-750 children and young people each week.
