Christmas is a time where the harshness of the bitter outdoors can be softened by the smoothness of a delicious drink indoors. We've teamed up with Laithwaite’s, one of the UK's most recognised wine delivery services, to look at their range of delectable spirit choices for the holiday season.

So whether you're looking to cosy up with a Scotch while watching a Christmas movie, or celebrating the New Year alongside friends with a delicious glass of Gin and Tonic, take a look at the choices we've come up with to whet the appetite.

Glenfiddich's 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an award winning malt thanks to its warm and rich flavours derived from its finish in bourbon barrels originally sourced from the Caribbean. Rum-soaked casks give the whisky a warmth and sweetness, with hints of vanilla and toffee, providing an extraordinarily unique flavour. Perfect for those moments where you're looking to warm up after a cold Christmas walk.

Another hugely popular Scotch whisky is the Ardbeg Corryvreckan, distilled on the island of Islay at the Ardbeg Distillery. Named after a tidal whirlpool off the north of the island, this whisky honours its name with flavours that are an assault of the senses and an aroma that is both dark and powerful. Its hints of coffee and dark fruits leave you with a taste to remember.

If whisky isn't your thing, consider the fruity flavours of Chase's Rhubarb and Bramley Apple Gin, providing tangy and tart flavour that pairs perfectly with the crisp refreshing delight of a tonic. Made from potatoes sourced on the Chase farm in Herefordshire and infused with home-grown Bramley Apples and Rhubarb, this gin encapsulates what makes Chase one of the premier gin distillers in the UK.

For a more international taste of gin goodness, look no further than Isokyrö's Kyrö Gin, voted the World's Best Gin for Gin and Tonic in 2015. With an herbaceous and crisp taste, thanks to its flavours deriving from locally-sourced botanicals, it pairs beautifully with Fever-Tree's Premium Indian Tonic Water. Kyrö's distillery was founded by five friends who intended to produce whisky -- however, when their gin won the coveted International Wine and Spirits competition, they were inundated with orders and subsequently took 7 months to fulfil them all.

And finally, if you're looking for a truly special spirit as a Christmas gift, look no further than Glenmorangie's Signet, a medal-winning single malt whisky. A highly-collectible malt, it is both their richest and most flavoursome tipple. As one of the Scottish Highland's most famed distilleries, Glenmorangie have pushed the boundaries of whisky-making for years -- and the Signet is no different. The result of the blending of two of the distillery's oldest whiskies and aged in an American Oak cask, it brings sweetness and explosive spice to the palate.

If you're tempted by any of these spirit choices, whether for yourself or as a gift, remember that TopCashback are offering an incredible up to 10% exclusive cashback when you shop with Laithwaite’s.
