Thank you so much for bearing with us this past week whilst we’ve attempted to fix Summer Treats.
We know how many of you enjoy playing the game, and how much time, commitment and excitement you put into it. That’s exactly why we’ve worked so hard to bring it back for you and why we love the game.
However, it’s with real regret we’ve made the difficult decision not to relaunch Summer Treats again. Despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to get it running in a way that meets the standard you deserve.
We’ve listened to your feedback, and while some of the challenges were out of our control, we take full responsibility for the experience not meeting the standard you expect from us. You’ve been patient, generous, and supportive throughout, and we’re genuinely sorry to have let you down.
How are we going to try and make it up to you?
We still want to share the Summer Treats prize pot with as many of you as possible. To recognise the time and effort you put in, we’ll be entering all eligible players into a special prize draw, using the full £30,000 prize pot we had set aside for the doubled Summer Treats game.

We hope we’ll be able to bring the Summer Treats game back one day, stronger than ever. In the meantime, we’ll continue doing everything we can to make your experience with TopCashback rewarding, as we love saving you money.

How the prize draw will work
We’ve designed the prize draw to reflect the original Sweet Treats game as closely as possible. Due to challenges with the game itself, we’ve determined that the fairest and most consistent way to run the draw is by using the total number of hummingbirds collected by each member across both phases of the game.
Here’s how the draw process works:
Calculating Member Entries: We total up all the hummingbirds collected by each member during Phase 1 and Phase 2. This combined total becomes the number of “Member Entries” into the draw.
Random prize distribution: All prizes including the Mega Draw prize are randomly allocated based on Member Entries. Each member can win a maximum of one prize per denomination, mirroring how prizes were distributed on the original game board.
Example: If a member collected 10 hummingbirds across both phases, they’ll receive 10 Member Entries. Each of these entries is then eligible to win any of the prizes, but once an entry is used to allocate a prize, it is no longer eligible. This ensures fairness while maintaining the spirit of the original game.
The prize draw will be taking place shortly, there’s nothing you need to do to take part, all eligible entries will be included automatically. If you’re one of the lucky winners, your prize will be added directly to your TopCashback account by 4pm on Tuesday 12th August.

How are we going to make it up to you?
We're truly sorry for the disruption and disappointment caused by the issues with the Summer Treats game. We know how much many of you look forward to it, and this isn’t the experience we wanted to deliver.
That said, we still want to share the Summer Treats prize pot with as many of you as possible. So, we’ll be entering all eligible players into a special prize draw, using the full prize pot of £30,000. That’s the same amount we’d allocated for the doubled Summer Treats game. We hope this feels like a fair and meaningful way to reward your participation, even if it is imperfect.
So what’s the least and most I can now win?
There are more than 60,000 prizes available to be won in the special prize draw, ranging from 10p up to £1,000.
The full range of prizes are 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £5, £10, £20, £100, and £1,000.
As with any prize draw (just like the original Sweet Treats game), not everyone is guaranteed to win a prize, but there’s a significant number of chances to do so.
How will I know if I've won?
If you’re one of the lucky winners you will see your prize automatically added directly to your TopCashback account by 4pm on Tuesday 12th August.
Why have you come to this decision, instead of just awarding the prizes?
We know this situation is disappointing — especially after the time and effort many of you put in. We're genuinely sorry for the way things turned out.
Our goal is still to give the full, boosted £30,000 prize pot to our members, and to do so in a way that’s as fair and meaningful as possible.
Because of the technical issues, we weren’t able to accurately or consistently award prizes based on gameplay. That’s why we’ve introduced a special prize draw, where every hummingbird you found earns you an entry.
This way, your efforts still count — and everyone who played has a fair shot at winning.
Why are you combining entries for both versions of Summer Treats?
As so many of you put so much effort into both versions of Summer Treats - both when it first went live, and when it relaunched - we felt it was fair to combine total entries from both. We believe this is the fairest way to compensate people who would have won across the game had it operated in the way it should have. Also, as we’re using the boosted prize pot created for the relaunch, this means there is more money to potentially win and there will be more winners.
Didn’t you already run some testing to try and fix it?
We did carry out testing alongside the third-party developer to make sure everything was running smoothly this time around. However, we weren’t able to replicate the full scale of live gameplay during testing and because Sweet Treats is such a popular game, some of the problems only surfaced once it went live.
We’re really sorry that things didn’t go as planned. We know how disappointing this has been and we genuinely tried to prevent it, but unfortunately some of the challenges only became clear after launch.
When is the game coming back?
Sadly, due to the issues faced, Summer Treats will not be returning. We are fully investigating the issues that have taken place to understand what went wrong. Once this has taken place, we will explore the possibility of offering further iterations of the Sweet Treats game in the future, which we hope we can do.
Does or has TopCashback made any money from running Summer Treats or other Sweet Treats games?
No, TopCashback does not make money from running Summer Treats or other Sweet Treats games.
These games are created purely as a way to give something extra back to our members — they’re designed to be fun, rewarding, and to help you earn even more on top of your usual cashback.
So while the games may help boost engagement with retailers or cashback offers, they’re not a revenue stream for us — they’re a way for us to give back and make your experience with TopCashback more rewarding.

Update on 30th July
We just want to share an update on the Summer Sweet Treats game.
Unfortunately, we’ve identified an issue with the game’s interface that was incorrectly displaying up to 75 times the intended value of prizes.
While we know some members may have welcomed the unexpected prize values, the issue makes it impossible to keep the game fair and consistent for everyone.
We can only apologise as this isn’t a problem that we can find a perfect solution for, and trust us, we have tried! We just aren’t able to award everyone the amount of prizes displayed while keeping the current game running fairly.
Fairness is something we take seriously. We believe in always doing the right and fair thing for our members, our business, and our team.
We always consider our members first, and we love saving you money. On this occasion, we also need to make a decision that protects the integrity of the game and allows us to invest in future games and improvements.
We understand this may be disappointing if you were shown or were expecting a higher-value prize, and we truly appreciate that. But to protect the fairness of the game for all members, and to ensure future rounds are played on a level playing field, we’ve made the difficult decision to reset the game and start fresh on Monday.
All affected members have been notified via a notice on their homepage. We’ve also included a questions section below to answer any questions you may have.
As a gesture of an apology, when the game relaunches on Monday we will be doubling the prize pot!
We will be increasing the number of prizes per day from 5,974 to 8,699. And an additional 1,000 prizes over the value of £1 including 88 more £100 prizes. This means more people will be able to win bigger prizes!

I saw a prize before the game was paused - will I still receive it?
Since we’re resetting the Summer Treats game (launching Monday), we’re unable to honour any prizes or prize draw entries that appeared before. This decision wasn’t taken lightly - we carefully considered several options and ultimately decided that starting afresh and doubling the prize pot would be the fairest way to move forward for everyone involved.
I was already playing - what will happen to the prize draw entries I've collected?
To ensure the fairest experience for all members, the game will be fully reset, launching Monday. This means everyone - whether playing before the pause or joining now - begins with the same opportunity to win. We understand this may be disappointing, but fairness has been our top priority throughout.
Why didn’t you just award the prizes that were shown?
We explored multiple options and took time to weigh the impact on our members, our team and ability to run the game again with our planned improvements, and our platform as a whole. The prizes displayed totalled around 75 times the originally intended amount - which unfortunately made awarding them all unfeasible. At the same time, we felt a small goodwill gesture wouldn’t properly rectify the issue either. After careful reflection, we concluded that a complete restart - combined with a significantly increased prize pot - was the best and fairest path forward. Will there be any compensation for the disruption? We understand that the disruption may have been disappointing, and we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience it caused. As a gesture of our appreciation, and to thank you for your patience, we’ve more than doubled the total prize pot in the relaunched Summer Treats game. Most of the extra value has been added to the £1 and above prizes, giving everyone a greater chance to win something more rewarding.
What reassurances are there that the game is properly fixed / this won't happen again?
We completely understand why you'd want reassurance, and we've taken this very seriously. Since identifying the issue, our technical team has thoroughly investigated the root cause and implemented a fix to the game’s interface to prevent it from happening again. We've also introduced additional checks and testing procedures to catch similar issues early and protect the integrity of the game moving forward. Our goal is to make sure the game is fun, fair, and rewarding, and you can trust that we’ve done everything we can to ensure a smooth experience from here on out.
