I am VERY disappointed with Sykes cottages, they acknowledged the transaction on the deposit, so I am somewhat surprised that they have not stood by their discount as advertised, it did not say on their conditions that the discount was only payable on payment of the full amount, if they had, I would have paid the full amount as there was not a great deal of time between the deposit & payment of the full balance. Instead of receiving £83.22, they awarded £1.80, in my opinion, this is false advertising as they are offering a low deposit to avoid paying customers the full discount. I will not be using their site again as they do not deserve the business of honest people. It also took them 9 months after the booking to decline the transaction, very poor service.

Very disappointed with this merchant. Followed the correct procedure and have tried to follow up through topcashback but have received no cash back from them. Bad customer service. Would certainly not use them again.

Cashback tracked quickly THEN declined AFTER or holiday in their cottage. DISGUSTED at this behaviour.

"This transaction has been declined, meaning the retailer feels that it is not eligible for cash back". I've been a member for 5 years, understand how the system works, and this is the first time this has happened. Can't help but think Sykes only want to honour small sums of cash back on deposits, not full holiday balances.

I would mark Sykes as 'zero' if I could. I followed all procedures clicking through from TCB to Sykes (clearing cookies, history etc.) I am not a newbie to the procedure but my cashback was flatly refused with this comment.Regrettably, your claim has been declined. The network agency has not identified ourselves as the last referral for your transaction. Utter rubbish and an easy 'get out' for Sykes and they won't tell you who the last referral is.

£40 cash back due. Nothing paid! Missing cashback claim proved fruitless - "Regrettably, your claim has been declined. The network agency has not identified ourselves as the last referral for your transaction". Shame on you Sykes - I'm always careful to make sure TCB is the last referral I use before purchasing.

Not happy at all! Had to raise a claim and company declined I booked through TopCashback. I definitely did! Top cashback even told me the time I went in there. I’m fuming this is nearly £59 owed. I would have waited for a discount code if I’d known I wouldn’t get the cashback. Really not happy. Have a good mind to chance the whole transaction.

Originally booked a cottage (Hadrian's Lodge) with Sykes for two weeks. Sensor light broken on arrival. Table lamp exploded. Short circuits in living-kitchen area. Bath-shower rail not screwed into tiles (fell into bath). Electric shower functioned with what seemed an assistance cord, no one knew how it worked. This could have been signalled. Result: poor showers all week with an alternative spray which was sustained by a hairband. The hoover was filled with small stones - had not been emptied previously. No proper towel rail. Cottage could do with a complete refresh. Requested refund for the second week as we no longer wanted to stay. Eventually a part refund was established. Insisting that I should receive the full amount, the company retracted the refund and accused us of damages to the property and closed the issue. Result: My holiday was ruined. My reputation also and I lost my money. Would not recommend to anyone Sykes and Hadrian's lodge. An appalling experience!!!

Don't even bother. Even on an expensive holiday they wouldn't honour the cashback and had the nerve to say I had gone through another website to avoid paying! Not impressed!
