Parcelforce Features

Business Parcels

If you regularly send more than two UK parcels a week - or one internationally - you could open a Parcelforce Worldwide account.

This could save you as much as 45% on their standard rates, but it will also make it easier to manage your deliveries. Select from a choice of payment options to suit your needs, as well as a range of services - from next day delivery to extra peace of mind for high-value items.

Find the perfect balance between speed and price, while you will be able to contact their customer service team should you need any help with international queries. Whether you will be using UK or global parcel services, you can trust Parcelforce to deliver.

Redelivery Options

If you miss an attempted delivery, the driver will leave a card which will tell you whether they will deliver the parcel again the next day or if it has been left with a neighbour, taken to your local Post Office branch or returned to their depot.

If you want to arrange for your parcel to be delivered to a different address, this can only be done after one attempt has been made to deliver it to the address on the parcel, while there will also be an additional charge.

If you want to collect your package from one of their depots, you should visit the depot locator to find the address, directions and opening times, while it will be ready for collection from the next working day.

If your parcel has been left at a Post Office but you would like to collect it from a depot, you will need to call them, while it can also be redelivered to a local Post Office, but only after one attempt has been made to deliver it to the address on the parcel. There will be a £1 charge for this, but if the parcel exceeds the Post Office weight and size restrictions, this will not be possible.

Company History

Royal Mail created a separate parcel function in 1986 that formed the foundations of Parcelforce, which it became known in 1990 when Royal Mail Parcels was rebranded.

That same year witnessed the introduction of online tracking and the construction of their national and international sorting hubs. The name of the business changed again in 1998, when it became known as Parcelforce Worldwide, and since then they have moved into the express parcels market.

They operate a hub and spoke collection and delivery system, with 54 depots throughout the UK feeding three tracking and sorting systems.
