While I understand that some people might loathe this type of product, for some it fills a useful gap. My son lives 200 miles away with his dad (who is a vindictive a*), this card allow me to make sure my son has money for travelling to see me, topping up his phone etc. If you top up at a paypoint and withdraw cash it costs BUT there's no charge to load it via BACS or to use it to make purchases. So, in theory you can limit the charges to £10/year. All in all I'd recommend it if it's a good fit for you.

I hate these types of cards, having said that this one does not have so many punitive FEES as some of the other ones I have seen. Some cards are bordering on Scam and Usery. But that is another matter... Here I point out some of the things I dislike, and which stops me using this for my sons. ANNUAL FEE £10. £10 for this, £10 for that, £10 to withdraw your balance and close the card down, £10 if you lose it, and so on and so on... TAKE A GOOD READ OF THE TERMS BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR MOMNEY ON THIS. Just a helpful heads up. The good thing, if I can misuse the word here, is that the £9.99 fee for each teenager's card is counterbalanced or offset by the card having £10 credited to it after 7 days. So they say. It also seems to be a time limited introduction offer so if you are going ahead, do so soon.
