Lalage launched her own label in 2004 having gained extensive experience designing for famous English fashion houses during the eighties and nineties. Trained in Fashion at the University of the West of England, Lalage (who is in fact English – the name is ancient Greek and pronounced La - la - ghee) began her career at Aquascutum, where she developed her understanding of the true meaning of quality. Lalage has an unrivalled appreciation of tailoring, textiles and finish and consequently went on to design for several other celebrated English brands (Burberry and Mulberry to name but two) before her three year sabbatical in New Zealand. Here Lalage focused her attention on buying and retailing European designer clothing, returning to England in 2004 to design her first range under her own name and opening her first shop in Mayfair in 2006.
