Hastings Direct Car Insurance Reviews

The “price was amazing” is how one of our satisfied members described the deal they got on their car insurance from Hastings Direct. Others describe their insurance as cheap and highlight how they had received a “great insurance deal”.

The easy application process also comes in for praise in Hastings Direct Car Insurance review feedback, as does their good customer service, while one member says they were very helpful following an accident. Members are happy with the good rate of cashback offered and the fact that it is paid on time, while one was surprised to receive a reminder that cashback was payable in their account.

Hastings Direct’s four-star rating on Trustpilot is largely down to people saying such things as “cheapest on the Internet” or “brilliant and easily the cheapest by miles”. Customers are also happy with what they describe as a reasonable excess and the fact their policy includes personal accident cover, while another was delighted to get good comprehensive cover at a reasonable price with lots of extras included.

One person who left feedback says Hastings beat their renewal quote by £500, while they are also thanked for always being friendly and helpful, providing a “great price for a young driver” and for the fact it is easy to manage a policy online. Other Hastings Direct Car Insurance reviews highlight how they are great at dealing with claims and that payment was authorised within nine days of informing them of an accident, as well as them being helpful when someone wanted to make a change to their policy.

To dsachdeva posted 16 August - if your account has become payable you have to click on the Payment tab to have money sent to you - it doesn't come from Hastings it comes from tcb.

Cashback tracked straight away. Took months to come through, but paid eventually. Competetive rates as an insurer, so happy overall.

Great. Spent however long filling in all of the online quote details to the enth degree of honesty only to be told that I have to phone them to 'talk about my quote'. Its only a years car insurance for Gods sake not a proposal of marriage.

I took out a policy with Hastings Direct one year ago, but still have not received my cashback. My account says it is payable but I still have not received my money. I am very unhappy with this service considering I paid my car insurance up front last year, but still have received nothing from Hastings Direct.

There have been many reviews here which state that cashback experience for retailer not good but, I have to say, there has been no problem at all. Cashback tracked and become payable when stated and without any input from me or tcb. All good as far as I'm concerned.

Hastings was the cheapest anyway for my insurance which came in at £400 (March 2011), yes had to wait 4 months for the cashback but thats clearly stated on application (I was prepared to wait because their £400 quote was cheaper than anyone else), that brought it down to around £340, as in March 2011 they were offering a £60 discount. No problems with the paperwork coming through either. As yet Ive not had to use their customer services.

Absolutely no problems with Hastings Direct. Paperwork came through within a couple of days. Cashback tracked automatically and became payable 4 months later (I'm guessing the delay is to make sure you don't get the cashback and then cancel the policy.)

After reading other comments I was a little sceptical about this companies record re cash back: however they clearly state cash back will not track for some months. In my case payment went staight from pending to payable on the day advised (almost 4 months after purchasing my insurance).

they have never tracked without having to contact topcashback to look into all the transactions from this insurer. However they have paid up in the end.

Cashback tracked correctly and promptly. Payout is long delayed though- hastings say 90 days, but the cashback estimate is 5 months (rather a long delay, hence 4* only)

Transaction did NOT track, despite TCB having a record of my visit to the site via TCB. I submitted a manual claim and have heard NOTHING regarding it being processed. This has been ongoing for over 3 months. The only reason I decided to go with Hastings was becuase the cashback would have made the policy cheapest for me after the cashback was paid. Therefore without any sign of the cashback being tracked/paid I am out of pocket. I do have insurance and as yet do not have any problem with Hastings themselves, only Top Cash Back for their poor efforts at solving my problem.

A complete and utter bunch of shysters which I have just reported to the Ombudsman. Their customer service is abysmal and they wanted to charge an amendment fee for their mistake. I cancelled the policy and went elsewhere. TCB have an obligation to cancel this company from their database and should do with immediate effect. If they don't they will fall foul of a legal challenge for potential malpractice. Avoid at all costs.

just attempted to get insurance but after filling in all details and accepting quote 15 mins later it still hasnt processed, but did get a phone call from them direct to talk about my insurance. Is this a ploy to avoid paying out through a cash back site?

Customer service in my view is abysmal. I inadvertently left off a no claims discount protection (my view on this is that the site is not customer friendly and "extras" should not be included by default as legal expenses are and one has to work out how to remove unwanted extras before buying) and to add it to the policy, which was not even in force for 4/5 days they wanted £10+ for the protection and £35 to amend details. This for a new customer, it was cheaper to cancel the whole thing and start over with the same insurer.

The link doesnt work. If you click through from Topcashback and enter a post code it finds no addresses, if you you go direct to them and enter your post code it finds your address. Sort it out please
