Holiday Essentials on a Budget

Palm Tree

The summer holidays are nearly here and many of us are preparing for a getaway abroad. It’s likely you’ll have had this break planned for a while but it’s often the way that things are left until the last minute, often to the detriment of any planned budget. But fear not! TopCashBack have got some top tips for getting all your holiday essentials on the cheap, meaning you’ve got more to spend at your destination.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is an absolute essential. Once you’ve booked your holiday you should look into buying it right away because if you have to cancel or rearrange your trip then your insurance company will cover the costs. It’s also something that you don’t necessarily want to skimp on depending on what you plan on doing. Check out our travel insurance section to earn some cash back, but be sure to shop around to get the right deal for you.

Sun Cream and After Sun

While this might seem too obvious to even include, it’s well worth stocking up on sun cream before you head abroad. Prices are often hiked up in holiday destinations so it’s certainly a good idea to check out the 2for1 deals that can be found online or on the high street around this time.

Check Tesco, Boots or Superdrug to find the best deal with cashback.

Holiday Clothes

When going on holiday it can be tempting to get carried away and buy a brand new wardrobe – who doesn’t want to look great in a new outfit in their holiday snaps? However you should thoroughly check through what you already own before heading to the shops because the money you don’t spend on new clothes might be better spent on a nice meal out while you’re away or a treat for the family.

For those of you who can’t resist the urge of glamming up for your next trip consider taking advantage of the summer sales while they’re still on. Our guide to this year’s summer sales features some great deals to be found on the high street now.

Baggage Restrictions

Always check the baggage restrictions of your particular airline before you fly – no one wants to turn up to the airport and pay a heavy fine for having overweight luggage. If you’re only going away for a short weekend you could try to pack all your clothes into your hand luggage. This is obviously not an option for everyone but is well worth considering if you can manage it – and it means no lengthy wait for your bags at the airport!

Everybody likes to document their lives through pictures, and everyone LOVES to show off pictures of themselves looking tanned on a beautiful sunny beach! Rather than sharing blurry images taken on your smart phone you could purchase a quality camera to take some lovely photos of you and the family admiring the sites.

Great deals on electrical items and photography equipment can be found in our photography section.

So, there we have our guide to getting all your holiday essentials on a budget. Now all you need to do is jet off and have a fantastic break! Happy Holidays!
