Critical illness cover is an insurance policy that pays out a lump sum if you become critically ill. It only covers conditions defined in the policy and no others, and doesn’t pay out on death. You can use the money however you like, whether that’s to help cover health-related costs, monthly expenses, or lost income while you get better. Aviva’s Critical Illness Plan will pay out during the policy term if you’re diagnosed with or have surgery for a condition that meets our policy definition and survive for at least 10 days.
A lump sum payment if you're diagnosed with one of 52 conditions.
Things to bear in mind:
• This is not a savings plan, or investment plan. It will only pay out on a successful claim.
• Flexible length of cover, from 5 to 50 years
• You need to be a UK resident aged between 18 and 64 to apply
• The policy must end before you turn 76.
• Inflation could reduce the value over time
• Cashback is payable after your sixth monthly premium has been received, value is dependent on the premiums paid (T&Cs apply)
