  ECCO Shoes began in 1963, when Karl Toosbuy fulfilled a dream to create a shoe company which was driven by the Scandinavian design philosophy of form follows function.

  He was determined to ensure that his company would own its own production and have complete control. ECCO Shoes is still owned by the Toosbuy family to this day - and is the only major shoe company to own its own production.

  They constantly innovate to improve the quality and feel of their shoes as ECCO believe footwear should not have to be broken in, but should fit perfectly straight out of the box.

  Indeed, the company's philosophy became to create shoes which were more comfortable, lasted longer and enabled people to walk and move naturally. In 50 years, ECCO has grown from a small factory in Bredebro, Denmark, with a few employees to one of the leading global shoe brands with almost 20,000 employees, selling more than 20 million pairs of shoes a year in 87 countries.

• Delivery

  No matter what you buy, ECCO offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £49, which will see it arrive in 2-3 working days if it is placed before 2pm Monday-Friday.

  If you live outside the mainland UK, you should allow up to five working days for delivery. If you need your items quicker, order by 2pm Monday-Thursday (excluding Bank Holidays) and you can get them by midday the following day if you opt for express delivery.

  Express orders placed after 2pm on Friday will be delivered the following Tuesday. Their preferred courier is DPD Local and, thanks to their Predict service, you will be provided with a one-hour delivery window via SMS and email, while their Follow My Parcel service will allow you to track the progress of your package on a real-time map up to a final 15-minute time slot.

  You can also order online and collect your purchase from any ECCO UK full price store the next day if you order by 2pm. You will be sent tracking information and an approximate delivery time, then an email or text telling you when you will be able to pick it up. You will need to take a form of photographic ID and proof of your billing address.
