The North Face Features

The North Face might be named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of a mountain, but its story began in San Francisco's North Beach neighbourhood in 1966, where two hiking enthusiasts decided to set up a small mountaineering store.

As the new millennium approached, The North Face launched their own range of trekking and trail running shoes and they continue to push the boundaries of innovation and the limits of design to this day.

ThermoBall is a new synthetic alternative to down which is lightweight and provides phenomenal warmth in cold and wet conditions, while FlashDry fabric technology is engineered to act like a second skin against the body, pushing moisture to the surface.

Regardless of their condition or brand, any clothes dropped off in their collection bins will be sent to their recycling centre, where they will be carefully sorted based on more than 400 categories.

They will then either be repurposed for reuse in order to extend their life or recycled into raw materials for use in products such as insulation, stuffing for toys and fibres for new clothing.
