Raileasy Features

Split Tickets

Trainsplit.com, in association with Raileasy, aims to save you money on train tickets by using a booking engine system called split ticketing.

This system works by amalgamating cheaper tickets along your route, but only if the journey stops en route. If you're travelling from Birmingham to Leeds, for instance, it may be cheaper to buy tickets from Birmingham to Derby, Derby to Sheffield and Sheffield to Leeds.

While you'll have a few more tickets in your pocket, you can make savings on advance and flexible tickets in first or standard class. This is completely legitimate and if there's a delay, all rail companies will allow you to travel on a later train.

So, if you're wondering 'should I split my fare', why not give it a try?

SailRail

If you are travelling between the UK and Ireland, SailRail is the convenient, comfortable and affordable way to do it.

Tickets can be booked from any National Rail station and journeys combine train travel with ferries from Holyhead, Stranraer or Fishguard to get you to your chosen destination of Dublin, Cork or Belfast.

Trains are operated by Virgin, ScotRail and Arriva Trains Wales and ferry crossings by Irish Ferries and Stena Line. Tickets do not include the cost of transferring between the port and the city centre. Passengers can take any train on the date shown on the ticket, but must travel on the booked ferry crossing.

Delivery

When you purchase tickets, opting for Ticket on Departure (TOD) during the booking process is usually the quickest and most convenient way for you to receive your rail tickets.

They will be ready to be picked up as soon as the booking is confirmed and they can be collected, free of charge, from any National Rail station which has ticket collection facilities.

When you go to pick up your tickets, you will need your booking reference and the debit or credit card you paid with. If time allows, they can have your TOD tickets posted via first class or special delivery.

Although they recommend TOD as the best method, should this not be an option, Raileasy suggest you choose special delivery in order to guarantee their safe arrival. If you select for your tickets to be sent to you in the post, you will not be able to change your mind and request for collection at the station.
