• Company History

  The Pretty Green brand was founded in 2009 by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher with the aim of uniting people through a love of music and fashion, and was named after a song by The Jam.

  The spring/summer 2009 collection was the first launched, while the brand opened their Carnaby Street store the following year - the same year Pretty Green won the Drapers menswear brand of the year award. Stores in Manchester, Glasgow and Covent Garden soon followed, while 2011 saw them collaborate with Paul Weller for his first ever full collection.

  A Japanese limited edition collection, featuring a unique version of their paisley, was launched in 2012 to coincide with the launch of Pretty Green in the country, while the brand also moved in to the eyewear market. Pretty Green's first tailoring collection was introduced in 2013, offering sixties-inspired slim-cut suits made using fine Italian fabrics, while the following year saw the opening of a second store in Glasgow.

  The success of their flagship store in Japan led them to open eight more across the country in 2015, while the 2016 launch of their Pretty Green x Jimi Hendrix collaboration saw the brand offer a selection of tote bags, lookbooks and a limited edition, numbered, 'Voodoo Child' seven-inch record pressed on purple vinyl.

  Pretty Green's collections are inspired by music movements from various eras, allowing you to step back in time and complete a particular look.

  The Black Label collection is inspired by the post-punk/new wave years between 1978 and 1982. Taking the lead of bands like Joy Division and Wire, and the sounds they pioneered, the collection features clothing offering a darker edge.

  Post-punk and new wave music was all about challenging the status quo and being defiant, and Black Label clothing echoes this spirit thanks to its bold colours and sharp lines. The Green Collection is also inspired by this era, which was one of the most pivotal periods in British youth culture, and features polo shirts, jackets and more.

  Pretty Green have also produced a Made in England capsule collection which includes pieces made from British cotton ventile, which is a high-performance fabric that is densely woven from the finest cotton and provides great waterproofing and protection from the elements.
