Nola is an occasionwear and bridesmaid dress brand responsibly producing modern, timeless designs in the heart of London. Founded in April 2021 by best friends Abigail Heinimann and Sophia Munro, Nola London reimagines the fast-paced, unsustainable nature of fashion and challenges the one-wear mindset of occasion dressing and bridesmaid attire.
Abigail and Sophia have a combined 30 years of experience in fashion buying and designing for brands including Asos, Topshop and Urban Outfitters. Whilst planning their own weddings as each other’s maid of honour, the duo felt a frustration at the lack of sustainable options available in the market that their friends would actually want to wear, and wear again in the future. In tandem with this, the girls’ careers had exposed them to the urgent need for fashion to operate slower, and with increased consideration to people and planet. The single-wear approach to the occasionwear industry, married with the need for more consciously made pieces, fuelled the inception of Nola London.
