Ticket Types

Wherever you are travelling to for leisure or business, and for however long you are staying, you will find a variety of First TransPennine Express tickets to suit your needs or budget. Advance tickets are single fares which offer great value for money on many longer distance journeys.

You must book in advance before 6pm on the day prior to departure and travel on a specific train service. Anytime tickets are fully flexible, with no time restrictions on when you can travel, and can be bought in advance or on the day.

Anytime Single and Day tickets are valid for travel on the date shown on the ticket and until 4.29am the following day, while for Anytime Return tickets, the outward journey must be made within five days of the date shown on the ticket and return journeys within one calendar month. You can also buy Airport Advance, Off-Peak, PLUSBUS, Rover and Ranger tickets.

The TransPennine Express January sale gave travellers the chance to get an extra third off Advance Purchase train tickets. If you were looking to beat the January blues and book a trip or day out to look forward to, it was the perfect time to do just that. The TransPennine Express network encompasses some of the greatest towns and cities in the north of England and Scotland, and there were plenty of journeys you could have saved on.
