What is Wizz Discount Club? Can regular flyers save money?

If you fly with Wizz Air regularly, you’ve probably been prompted to join the Wizz Discount Club. But what is it and is it actually worth paying for?

The Wizz Discount Club is a paid membership that offers discounts on tickets and luggage as well as perks included with every flight.

Wizz Air is a budget airline, so does this paid membership really save you money or cost you more?

So if you’re planning on a few trips to Europe this year, you should consider whether joining can save you money. We’ll break down how Wizz Discount Club works, how much you can save, and who it’s actually worth it for.

What is Wizz Discount Club?

The Wizz Discount Club is a paid annual membership that offers discounts on flights, luggage, and on-board purchases. You’ll also receive priority customer care and benefits with Wizz Air partners.

There are different tiers to choose from, and some tiers include seat selection, priority check-in, and cabin bags with every flight. 

The great thing about Wizz Discount Club is that you can buy tickets for more than one person under the same membership, and some tiers allow up to six tickets under one account.

Standard and Premium tiers

There are two paid tiers under the Wizz Discount Club: Standard and Premium. Here’s what each one offers:

The main difference? Premium includes seat selection, priority boarding, and cabin baggage, which can significantly increase savings, but only if you usually pay for extras.

Standard Plus and Premium Plus

For both tiers, there are upgrades to the Plus level available that are ideal for group travel. Travelling as a group for trips like stag and hen dos, friends trips, or large family holidays can mean that Plus saves you all money, usually after just two trips.

Standard Plus costs €99.99 per year (~£87) but covers up to six people. For roughly £35 more than Standard, you can extend the discounts to six people, which could work out cheaper in one or two trips.

Premium Plus costs €384.99 per year (~£333) for you and one other Premium traveller and up to four Standard travellers. This costs an extra £30 for six people to get discounts on flights and luggage, and two of those people to get additional seat selection and cabin bags included.

Is Wizz Discount Club worth it?

There’s a handy savings calculator at the Wizz Air website that shows you what you can save based on how you currently travel. 

Add in your details like who you fly with, how often you fly, what you bring with you, and if you usually pay for seat selection. The calculator will then suggest which membership is best suited for you to save money.

The example above displays the total savings as €180, from which you should minus the cost of the membership, meaning the total saving is actually €120.01. This saves around £104 after three return trips for two people with luggage.

However, you should bear in mind that membership discounts can only be used on flights priced at €29.99 and above. So if you’re used to getting the cheapest Wizz Air flights for budget trips to Europe, it won’t save you money on these.

For example, we found return flights from Gatwick to Tirana for €17.98 and Birmingham to Suceava for €23.98, neither of which would save you money as a member.

Luggage savings are usually the biggest win. A basic Wizz Air fare includes only a personal item under the seat (a small backpack). Adding cabin + priority can cost £27–£29 per person per flight without membership. Standard members save around £4–£5 per person per flight; Premium members get two cabin bags and priority included.

You should also consider whether you usually pay for seat selection (which only comes with Premium). These prices can vary from £6 to £15 per person without membership.

Another factor is how far you’re located from a Wizz Air airport. Budget airlines are known for their less-than-convenient flight times, so being close to somewhere like Gatwick, Luton, or Birmingham airport will save you on the trip to the airport (which can cost more than the flight!).

How often do you travel and who with? As a general rule:

Solo travellers save after 6+ flights per year
Couples save after 3+ return trips
Groups save in around 1–2 trips (Plus membership)

However, these savings change if you sign up during a Wizz Air sale. In March/April 2026, Standard membership was €39.99 instead of €59.99, and Standard Plus was €59.99 instead of €99.99. This means you’ll break even much faster, potentially after just one or two trips.

Where you live can impact whether the membership is worth it. Wizz Air operates from seven airports in the UK, with Luton featuring the biggest number of routes. Living near one of these airports means you’re not blowing extra money on travelling to the airport. 

A Wizz or a miss?

Regular flyers with Wizz Air can save money, but it’s usually best for couples who travel three or more times a year for budget travel on the Standard tier. 

There are other occasions it can work out as a money-saving membership, such as group travel or regular solo travellers who only take a small backpack.
