  • How TopCashback can help you save on travel extras

Booking a holiday can be expensive, and it’s often all those travel extras that can add up: airport transfers, insurance, clothing, accommodation, and other essentials.

TopCashback can save you money on almost every single part of your holiday, from hotels and train tickets to sunscreen and SIM cards.

We’ve got more than 6,000 brands on site, and even if you’ve been a member for a while, there may be travel extras you hadn’t even thought to get cashback on.

Saving a little on each and every holiday add-on means more spending money for your trip, so let’s dive into all the ways we can help you save.

Travel extras to book before you go

Once you’ve booked your holiday, there are some things you’ll want to organise as soon as possible. Booking in advance gives you more options, peace of mind, and usually a better price.

🏨 Accommodation

Accommodation is usually the biggest spend, and booking in advance will almost always get you the best price. Super last-minute bookings can achieve that too, although it’s much riskier. Sign up for loyalty programmes to get discounts or earn points with platforms like Expedia, Hotels.com, and IHG.

Depending on where you’re going and who you're with, there are different types of accommodation that can save you money.

Hostels are great for budget travellers and those wanting to socialise in an exciting new city. Sometimes you can get a private hostel room for less than you’d pay for a hotel room. Book with Hostelworld and you can earn cashback on your stays.

Hotels equal comfort and convenience for solo travellers, couples, and small families who will be dining out every day. There are a range of prices, hotel star ratings, and room types at Expedia, Hotels.com, and lastminute.com, with cashback on top from us.

Apartments & aparthotels are ideal for larger parties, longer stays, and those looking to save money by dining in. Choose your own adventure with apartment bookings on Agoda and VRBO, which both feature on our site.

✈️ Airport extras

You can inadvertently spend a lot of money at the airport, but with a little planning and money-savvy spending, you don’t have to.

Airport lounges can be booked in advance from just £11 per person (although more commonly £25–£40) with Lounge Pass and TravelSupermarket Airport Lounges. An annual subscription with Priority Pass starts from £69 a year and means you can book any lounge for £24 each time. Both options can work out cheaper than buying refreshments from airport shops. You’ll also enjoy a quieter environment, separate wi-fi network, comfortable seats, and sometimes showers.

Airport transfers can be cheaper and more convenient than paying for parking. Our brands include Holiday Extras, Suntransfers, and Holiday Taxis for you to book a variety of transport options like a shared shuttle, minibus, coach, or private taxi.

Airport parking may be your best option if you live within driving distance and prefer your own transport. Book in advance with a variety of airport-specific parking operators from our site to get the best price. We also have a guide on how to save on airport parking, which includes tips for major hubs like Gatwick, Heathrow, and Manchester Airport.

📜 Insurance

Booking travel insurance isn’t the most fun, but our TopCashback Compare tool definitely makes it easier. Get the best rate for you, the coverage you need, and cashback from it.

Plug in the details of where you’re going, how long, and who’s travelling, then we’ll give you a rundown of the best travel insurance plans for you starting with the cheapest. Using our comparison tool means you can earn an average of £14* for your holiday insurance (or as much as £207*!).

*Based on figures from 2025, cashback amount will vary depending on policy.
