How to use Boots points for maximum value
With more than 28 years under its belt, the Boots Advantage scheme has changed over the years, so there may be lots of little ways to save you weren’t aware of. Here are our top tips for how to use Boots points to get the most out of your money.
1. Download the app
Download the Boots app, add your Advantage Card and you can collect and spend right from your phone. Once you’ve added your card, you won’t even need to think about it as your points will be added automatically.
You’ll get 200 Boots points when you download and make your first purchase, which is the equivalent of £2, as well as personalised offers based on your spending habits. To use these offers, you'll need to load them before you shop so they appear in your basket.

The Boots app can come in particularly handy if you’re shopping in store; keep your location on and it will let you know any relevant in-store offers you can pick up. Plus, if you’ve forgotten your physical card, simply scan from the app and you’ll earn points on your in-store shopping.
If you’re ordering prescriptions via the app, you can set up reminders before your next order is due so you’re always on top of it.
2. Check ‘my offers’
Within your Boots account, on the app or via your web account, check ‘my offers’ where you’ll find current promotions personalised to you. These are based on your buying history, so if you’ve got a favourite brand or product that you buy regularly, you may be offered a discount on these or similar items. Make sure you 'Load to Advantage Card' so that it applies to your basket (you can pick more than one).

3. Sign up for emails
You’ll get offers and notifications sent via your Boots app, but if you don’t have or want the app, sign up for emails instead. Your Boots email newsletter will keep you in the know about current offers, upcoming sales, and special Advantage Card discounts.
4. Shop £10 Tuesday deals
Every Tuesday, 100s of items are reduced to £10, sometimes discounted by up to 80%! We regularly see items from No7, Nip + Fab, Lumene, and Nivea, so add your favourites to your wishlist and check every £10 Tuesday. Deals start as early as 2am and popular products with big discounts sell out fast, so the early bird gets the worm with this one.

5. Browse Price Advantage products
Look out for pink stickers – these are Price Advantage products, meaning you get an extra discount for being a member. Discounts are usually 10%, but you can often find 15% and 3 for 2 offers under this scheme as well. You’ll still collect Boots points on these products.
6. Bag a discount as a student
Students get a 10% discount at Boots once they link a valid student ID with an Advantage Card. Student discounts run out on 31st August every year and must be renewed from 1st September.
Sometimes there are events with boosted student discounts of 15% or 20% (you can hear about these exclusive offers via email).
7. Reap rewards if you’re over 60
Join Over 60s Rewards with a valid birthdate and earn eight points for every £1 you spend on selected brands. Eligible brands include No7, Boots own brand, Soap & Glory, Liz Earle, and Champneys.
Other offers you can receive as an Over 60s Rewards member include 10% off Boots Opticians when you buy a pair of glasses and 300 points with a free Hearing Health Check at Boots Hearingcare.

8. Pick up Parenting Club perks
For parents with little ones under five, the Parenting Club offers eight points per £1 spent on selected baby products. There are also occasional exclusive offers and free gifts for members.
9. Watch out for points events
Boots points events aren’t as common as they used to be, but they still exist. An event will usually last one day and can offer double or triple points, so you'll earn either six or nine points for every £1 you spend.
Sometimes Boots will offer £10 worth of points when you spend £50 in store or £60 online instead. We’ve seen events fall on a Tenner Tuesday, so you can get extra points and a discount at the same time.
Get double points on every Boots purchase throughout your birthday month. Make sure you’ve filled out your date of birth within your account to activate this.
10. Recycle for discounts
Save up to £5 in points for recycling items you can’t at home. The Boots Recycling Scheme means you can responsibly get rid of your empty cosmetics containers and get rewarded for doing so.

You’ll need to download the Recycling at Boots app, register, then scan five products. Once confirmed (which can take 24 hours), take your five products to a Boots store and spend £10 to get 500 Advantage Card points.
Check the Boots Recycling page to see what’s eligible and which stores feature recycling deposit boxes.
Becca from TopCashback has enjoyed this scheme for years:
"I'm a huge fan of the Boots Recycling scheme as it offers really generous rewards for minimal effort.
Since I started using the scheme in 2021, I've saved 150 beauty items from going to landfill and earned over £110 in Boots Advantage Points in the process.
I've also recently started recycling blister packets and have earned £3 in Boots points over three visits so far."

11. Check Christmas offers: Star Gifts & 3 for 2
At Christmas time, Boots offers ramp up to include Star Gifts and 3 for 2 on selected products. Star Gifts feature discounts of around 60% on selected products every week; here are some examples from Christmas 2025:
💄Lancome La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum 50ml for £48.50 (usually £97)
💄Ted Baker Cosmetics Collection for £23.50 (usually £48)
💄Boots Best of Beauty Christmas Showstopper Beauty Box for £80 (worth £328.43)
Boots 3 for 2 is ideal for smaller gift sets and stocking fillers. You’ll find a lot of No.7, Sanctuary, Boots own brand, and Soap & Glory products; here are a few examples from last Christmas:
🛍️ Soap & Glory Be Berry & Bright 4 Piece Gift Set at £12.50
🛍️ No7 Men’s Energising Duo at £10
🛍️ Disney Princess Cosmetic Bag at £10
🛍️ Boots Vitamin C Luminous Duo at £8
12. Play & Win
The new mobile app game is available to all Boots Advantage Card members over 16 who have an updated version of the Boots app. Play daily and match three cards to win 10, 20, 100, or 10,000 Boots points.
There are also occasional prize draws in Play & Win; allow push notifications to be alerted about the next one. Find Play & Win under ‘more’ along the bottom navigation bar then under ‘Advantage Card’.

13. Wait & save
With sales, points events, £10 Tuesdays, Star Gifts, and Price Advantages, it just makes sense to add items to your wishlist and wait for an opportunity to get a discount. Commonly-featured brands in the £10 Tuesday sale are No.7, Olay, Lumene, Nip+Fab, and Nivea, so you could strike lucky with an item reduced by up to 80%.
Additionally, waiting until you have a full basket means you can save on delivery as well. Spend £25 or more and you’ll get free delivery, or free click & collect on £15 or more.
Saving up your points is a common tactic as well, especially for times of the year you’ll be spending more money. In fact, 40% of Boots customers spend most of their points over the Christmas period, which we think is pretty money-savvy.
Abbie at TopCashback is a bit of a money-saving expert when it comes to Boots...
"I save my points up so I can treat myself to a perfume; I usually wait until it's a Star Gift so it's half price, or I get a Christmas gift set as there's usually a full-size perfume paired with a mini for less than the full-size.
I also take advantage of TopCashback WOW deals and TopGiftcards. In November 2025, I bought £265.50 worth of Christmas presents for £130.94:
- With 3 for 2 and other discounts I saved £102.50
- I got a TopGiftcard with 3% cashback which gave me £4.89
- The cashback rate was 20% so I got £27.17
It was also my birthday month so I got double points (980 instead of 490)."
14. Don’t spend just because
We may say this a lot, but it’s true! It’s not a deal if you didn’t really need it, which is why it’s a good idea to add your favourites to your wishlist instead.
15. Get cashback
Of course we’re going to say this, but it is free money after all. Boots is one of our most popular cashback brands on site, and our members earn free money alongside Boots points for double the savings.
If you’re new to cashback, here’s how it works:
As a popular brand on our site, we regularly feature exclusive rates and boosted amounts for selected brands, minimum spends, and new customers. So make sure you sign up to our newsletter to hear about exclusive cashback amounts you can earn.
*Correct at the time of writing, subject to change. Bear in mind that you can't earn cashback on Boots purchases when you pay in points.

We also feature TopGiftCards on our site, so you can buy a gift card for a selected brand and earn cashback when you do. Boots is included in our range of TopGiftCard retailers, so you can buy a gift card for yourself or a loved one and earn cashback when you do. You can even use your cashback earnings to buy the gift card through Reward Wallet, for the ultimate money-savvy spending.
