Rarely tracks and never pays out
Transactions very rarely track, and for how little you get back it never feels worth the hassle of submitting a claim. On the rare occasion that it does track, it always gets rejected anyway. Completely pointless them being on this platform!

Having to submit a claim every purchase
Exactly as others have reviewed. I am now having to submit a missing cashback claim for every purchase as it never tracks and then have issues with their VAT subtraction (if they ever respond). It's becoming pointless them being on this site. Sort it out Sainsbury's or else remove yourself from cashback sites if you don't want to pay it.

Not tracking again
Here we go again. This happened last year. Despite the "your visit has been recorded" screen, your visit is NOT recorded and I'm having to submit a missing cashback claim for every order placed in the last month. And THEN when it says to submit the claim WITHOUT VAT, they then recalculate that total and take the VAT off for a second time so sometimes that means the order total is under the £45 minimum. Ridiculous. Stop asking for ex VAT if you're going to do it yourself, stop doing it yourself, or frankly just make it track in the first place. Infuriating.

Don't waste your time...they NEVER PAY NOW !
As many others have noted all of my transactions with Sainsburys never pay out now..they just get confirmed at £0 !! Don't waste your time. Spend hundreds..get nothing. Great !

Diabolical
Orders don't track. Claims apparently go uninvestigated for months. Eventually, the cashback gets declined (3 out of the last 3 "resolved" claims), not always for reasons which I fully agree with. My oldest claim is now 6 months old, and claims are accumulating faster than they are being cleared, as I order weekly (and have to claim every time). I currently have 11 orders subject to claims. Very disappointing performance from a major name in UK grocery. They get 1 star because they at least offer cashback on every order, unlike their competitors who disallow cashback for amending orders, or limit cashback to the first few orders.

Very poor all round
Waited for months to be told "TopCashback was not seen as the final referrer of the purchase." Really!, well I don't use anyone else - therefore lies and a con to genuine shoppers who have been misled/mis-sold a cashback deal So message to Sainsbury - I will use up my Nectar points and shop elsewhere with companies that actually pay out cashback. Message to Topcashback - you need to seriously look at this or are you complicit in the mis-sold/mis-led scam?

Used to work - now always doesn't track/gets declined!
As per all the other messages below, Sainsbury's have changed something in their process so that now the click throughs don't track properly anymore - and then if you actually take the trouble to raise a customer services claim they decline completely valid claims saying that it wasn't linked to topcashback. Absolute rubbish. Very poor from Sainsburys, this always used to work fine.

No longer rewarding Loyal Customers
When I started using Sainsbury's through Top Cashback, the rewards worked perfectly however, since the beginning of 2025, i've had to chase for every week's shop that I have done. And now Sainsbury's are refusing my cashback saying i didn't go through Top Cashback to do my shop Now why would I not do that !!!! you offer a cashback when we use this service, so please honour the offers you make and reward your loyal customers - or they will shop elsewhere

Sainsbury’s Let down
New customer bonus from order in mid December not paid. Had to wait 3 months to raise query with TCB. Now 6 months and still waiting for Sainsbury’s to respond. Poor service from a supposedly reputable Grocer! Reading all the other bad reviews I wonder why Top Cash Back still partnering with them!

Cashback never goes through automated, waiting time 6+ months to decline !
Terrible experience ever getting any cashback. For pathetic 85 pence for existing customers you have to submit a claim, wait often 3-6 months and then they come up with an even worse excuse why it's declined.

Complete Rubbish for claiming cashback
How come over the last few months I have spent an absolute fortune on my monthly shop to get nothing back...?? judging by a lot of reviews here it has happened to lots of other people too. How can we find out what's happening???

I really am fed up with Sainsburys as all other retailers track fine so why should this be any different. such a waste of time trying to raise tickets too. Please have a word with them as this is not working for so many people. Thank you

Cashback seems to have stopped - disappointing altogether
For the first time in 4 years, I have no cashback in progress from Sainsburys. No orders have tracked since they u-turned on withdrawing the cashback for existing customers. I now have 5 claims for orders placed since then. I also have 2 more since last Christmas. Not only is cashback not tracking, there is also no effective mechanism for resolving claims. They only get 2 stars because of the track record. Unlikely to review in future; I will just find some other way to save a few pounds on my grocery shop. Specifically by shopping elsewhere.

Pretty poor performance

Inconsistent
Most of the time it tracks ok but sometimes gets declined for no reason. Also sometimes tracks at an amount lower than the minimum order value of £45 when order is way more so then doesn’t pay out.
