Merlin Cycles accept applications from three Cycle to Work schemes.

These are Cyclescheme.co.uk, On Yer Bike and Bike2Work. They will provide you with specialist advice to help you choose the right bike for your travel needs, as well as recommend accessories such as lights and helmets.

The Cycle To Work Government initiative allows you to get a new bike and safety equipment for you commute to work tax free, and you will be able to save 25-42%. Merlin Cycles do charge a 10% administration fee on all bikes and accessories purchased through Cycle To Work schemes, which you will need to pay separately to your scheme voucher.

If you add the items to your basket and print off the basket page, this will usually act as your quote, which your employer can send off to the relevant scheme. You will then be provided with either an e-voucher or postal voucher.

Merlin Cycles offer free delivery on all UK orders over £20, with the exception of bikes and hand-built wheels, which cost £19.99 and £6.50 respectively to be delivered.

They aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours of receipt and, in most cases, orders received by 2.30pm will be sent out the same day. Small and light items will arrive via the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service and will be with you within 2-3 days.

For a small additional charge, you can select the Tracked 24 service, which has a 95% success rate for next day delivery. They also offer Royal Mail Special delivery (before 1pm) and DPD Next Day and Saturday delivery. Large and heavy items, including wheels, will be sent via courier on their next day service, which has a success rate of more than 90%.

Bikes are shipped with Parcelforce, who deliver within 48 hours to most UK mainland addresses. You should allow for a build time of 3-5 days for hand-built wheels and 5-7 days for bikes. All items require a signature on delivery.

If you are a loyal customer, Merlin Cycles offer guaranteed discounts off the list price of items.

The amount of discount depends on your spend over the previous 12 months. There are currently three loyalty levels and the qualifying spend is based on a rolling period. Bronze is for all UK customers who have spent £50 in the last 12 months, and will see you receive 7.5% off the list price of any product which is being sold at the recommended retail price (RRP).

If you have spent £100 over the last 12 months, you will reach Silver level and be entitled to 10% off the list price of any item being sold at RRP. To be accredited with gold status, meanwhile, you will have to have spent £250 in the previous 12 months. If this is the case, you will be able to get 15% off the list price of products being sold at RRP.

Once you reach the required spending threshold, you will be sent an email welcoming you to the scheme, telling you what level you are at and the spend you require to reach the next level (if applicable). Once a member, you will need to log in to your account to see your personal pricing. Discounts are applied automatically and your saving will be displayed on your order.
