What you get from them isn't worth the cashback you get
Spent £25 on my first order with this company. Plants arrived 2 weeks later covered in dead foliage, one with completely broken stems and 5 perennials covered in yellow leaves. I contacted customer support via the companies suggested route of WhatsApp and it took over an hour for anyone to respond. Then they tried to fob me off with excuses about how the plants should regrow or that perennials look like this at this time of year. Which is nonsense. I paid for the standard of plants I saw in the images on the website. Not for things that might hopefully look like that one day, if I'm lucky. My garden is full of perennials that look nothing like this. I've seen better quality plants in the reduced section of B&M. At reduced prices.
Now they are telling me I have to pay for the postage for the return of the items. Despite them having sent them via Evri in the first place. I have to waste time and spend more of my own money dealing with this. And despite what it says on the companies terms and conditions, the Consumer Rights Act says the absolute opposite.
Section 19 – Consumer's rights to enforce terms about goods
This section outlines the consumer’s rights when goods do not conform to the contract, including when goods are:
Not of satisfactory quality
Not fit for purpose
Not as described
It affirms that consumers have a short-term right to reject goods (typically within 30 days) and receive a full refund. It implies that if the goods are rejected due to being faulty or damaged, the trader must bear any costs associated with returning the goods.
?? Section 20 – Right to reject
This specifically covers the right to reject and:
Section 20(7) states that the trader must bear the cost of returning the goods when a consumer exercises their right to reject due to non-conformity with the contract (e.g., goods are faulty/damaged).
I have pictures of all the damage on the plants and screenshots of the customer service chats on WhatsApp.
I'm now contacting my bank to
