DENIED WARRANTY FOR GALAXY FOLD 4
GIFFGAFF COMPLAINT
I bought a refurbished galaxy fold 4 and slightly over a month after purchase the screen stopped unfolding (opening) the completely. I have found that this is a very common fault on the galaxy fold.
But giffgaff is denying the warranty even though this has happened after no fault of my own. They gave me 3 options: 1. Pay them for the repair £532 (similar to what I paid them for the phone!) 2. Leave them the phone for free?! 3. Get the faulty phone back without being repaired.
Samsung shouldn't sell those phones due to this very common fault and other common problems such as cracked screen due to opening the screen, black lines, etc.
I am going to the Financial Ombudsman with this and hope they will help me again.
Giffgaff seems to be very unreliable as some time ago I ordered from them a sim card that (O2) with internet data that was unusable (internet extremally slow) and charged me for that without a refund.
Below is the response I have received from Giffgaff:
Hi,
We've taken a look at your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 5G Refurbished and the repair isn't covered by your warranty. Good news is that we can still fix this for you if you'd like, it will be at a cost of £532.00.

Don't buy a phone from them if you have a Giffgaff account, it will invalidate your cashback. Only found this out after my purchase

EXCLUSIVE 3 DAY DEAL FOR £50 CASHBACK ON USED PHONE WITH NEW SIM. Cashback tracked at £5 and then went payable at £5 despite the transaction tracking the correct purchase. Very poor experience.

They say £50 and pays out £5. Don’t trust when it says uplift. It’s a lie

ordered new phone from giffgaff, going through an offer here on topcashback. from start to finish nearly took 5 months with an uphill battle all the way....while giffgaff seems to be a pretty good site,,,they were quite prepared to dodge the issue of a payment of £45...took many emails to both companies and only seemed to take any notice nly after i raised this case with RESOLVER and having to through the motions all the way to the C.E.O. . EVEN THEN I GOT E MAIL SAYING THAT THEIR AGENTS HAD BEEN WRONG IT STILL TOOK A FEW WEEKS TO FINALLY GET MONEY.. so i,m afraid from my view i think what you see in the window may not be what you get...a bit of false advertising and bad ethics all round..

Wouldn't bother expecting any cash back, been waiting for 8 months, TCB say they are waiting for them. Purchased two handsets, bought a bundle for both of them - fulfilling the requirements for CB and nothing.

Cashback only tracked at £5 instead of £45 and we had to open a case against them - still waiting for Giff Gaff to respond over 2 months down the line. Not impressed!

Purchased phone and goody bag, so far have not honored the phone purchase at all, has been months, really would base your purchase on getting cashback from them, you might get a fiver if your lucky. Not good at all, currently TBC are waiting for retailer to respond, lord only knows when that will be.
