EDF - Helping Britain Achieve Net Zero

EDF Logo

Part of the EDF Group, EDF is the largest producer of zero-carbon electricity in the industry in the UK — and the biggest national energy supplier of electricity by volume in the United Kingdom market. As well as supplying zero carbon electricity to homes and businesses, they also generate it.

They own a coal-fired power station which gives them the highest coal-fired generational capacity of any of the energy companies in the UK, as well as offshore and onshore wind farms in England. The company operates eight nuclear power stations and the West Burton B CCGT gas-fired power station.

Their aim is to be a sustainable and responsible green energy business through their standards of efficiency and by championing low-carbon growth, while their research and development centre is there to help build a brighter energy future for the UK.Browse the various EDF gas and electricity tariffs to get the best energy price, see if you can take advantage of any EDF deals, visit the smart home store for the latest technology or learn about billing and energy efficiency. You’ll also find information about switching to EDF from other suppliers. Refer a friend to EDF, meanwhile, and you could both get £50 off your bill.

All you need to do is visit the refer a friend page and follow the steps and you can be rewarded if they switch their gas and electricity to EDF. Gas & Electricity Tariffs

There are various EDF tariffs customers can choose from — depending on what type of meter you have installed — which could see you cut your energy bills. You'll be able to switch to zero carbon electricity at zero extra cost too. If you have a standard meter, there are multiple plans available for you to compare, including fixed price options.

The Easy Online plans let you do everything via your EDF account, allowing you to save time and hassle, as well as money. The fact they have fixed prices means you can plan and budget effectively, while you can save time by paying via Direct Debit. The fact a customer can manage their account online means there'll be no more waiting on the phone.

You can also get the Easy Online tariff as part of a bundle deal. This means you can add things like smart home devices to your energy deal. For example, you might be able to get your hands on a new Amazon Echo Dot and a Philips smart lighting starter kit for a few extra pounds per month at EDF. If you want Total Service, there are full service energy tariffs with call centre support and no exit fees.

Opt for the Standard Variable tariff, meanwhile, and you’ll be on variable rates, meaning the price of your energy could go up or down. This option is available if you have a prepayment meter, as is Prepay Total Service, which offers a fixed rate until the end of your contract, no early exit fee and call centre support. You might find an exclusive online deal, but don't forget to check for EDF discount codes and cashback offers to see if you could save when you get an online quote and switch your gas and electricity.

EDF Features

Smart Home Store

The EDF smart home store is where you’ll find technology which will help transform your home and allow you to control your devices with a tap or voice command.

Get your hands on the Amazon Echo and Alexa will be on hand to set alarms, dim the lights or remind you about appointments, while you can create the perfect atmosphere with the Philips Hue starter kit, which will enable you to set your lights to switch on when you’re not around. Grab a smart thermostat and you’ll be able to set the temperature from your phone, while smart plugs will let you control gadgets when you’re out. You’ll also find smart security cameras which can alert you to suspicious activity and help ensure your safety. It's always worth checking to see if there are any EDF discount deals available, while you're sure to find a saving tip or two.

Billing

If you need any help with your energy bills, you’ll find plenty of helpful information on the EDF UK website.

You can learn about how your bills, meter reading reminders and annual usage statements work, plus how your bill will be different depending on how you pay for your energy and when you signed up to EDF. As there are various ways of making payments, you can find out which method best suits you, as well as learn about annual EDF reviews, which are used to see if your Direct Debit payments need to be raised or lowered to match your usage.

If you find yourself struggling to pay your bill, meanwhile, they are happy to take calls and one of their finance experts will guide you through the ways in which they might be able to help. Learn how to read your meter and submit meter readings in order to receive more accurate bills, while you can also find out what makes up your bill, such as government schemes.

If you need help with your billing, just click on Help and Support from the EDF home page. Remember, you could cut your bills and get a great online deal thanks to our cashback and EDF voucher codes.

Boiler Cover

Choose from one of their BoilerCare support plans or insurance policies for protection on your boiler.

EDF has joined up with Domestic & General to offer a range of plans and insurance policies that will help to support you with the maintenance of your boiler and heating system. There are three main BoilerCare plans: BoilerCare Gold, BoilerCare Platinum and BoilerCare Total Insurance. Each plan is paid monthly and differs in price depending on the benefits included.

BoilerCare Gold is the standard plan, offering maintenance on your boiler and controls, an annual service from a boiler engineering expert, a replacement boiler (if required) and access to the Domestic & General portal for advice on boiler maintenance. The BoilerCare Platinum plan offers all of the benefits of BoilerCare Gold, but with additional central heating protection. The BoilerCare Total insurance policy then includes all of the benefits of BoilerCare Platinum, but with additional home emergency cover.

If you are worried about what would happen if your boiler broke down but don’t require all of the benefits of the above BoilerCare plans, then EDF also offers basic breakdown insurance to cover your boiler and central heating. If you are already in need of a repair, EDF offers a repair and care service plan which will provide you with boiler maintenance, as well as cover if an engineer is unable to fix the issue with your boiler. There are also specific plans available for landlords, including boiler maintenance and advice on boiler care. T&Cs do apply.

Energy Efficiency

If you’re keen to save energy, smart meters will help put you in control while providing a hassle-free metering solution.

Thanks to the digital display on your EDF smart meter, you’ll be able to see how much you’re using in pounds and pence if you opt to install one, while it will provide you with a better understanding of your usage. This will help you when it comes to energy saving as you could make a few simple changes to lower your bills.

If you’re unsure about how they work, you’ll find all the information and video content you could need on their website, whether you’re looking for advice on installations or what you can expect on the day. Book your EDF smart meter installation online, manage the whole process via your EDF account and improve your energy saving capability.

While they can help you be more energy efficient, we can ensure you're more savvy when it comes to money when you switch your electricity to EDF, as well as switch your gas, thanks to our EDF discount codes and cashback offers.
